Episode V September 9th, 2019 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

—  Ultimate Endurance The show opened with the commentary team of Ben Petrie and Matt Mears at the announce table. Petrie welcomed the fans to the show and said that there was something major to address after Episode IV last week. Petrie said that with the announcement of the OATH World Tag Team Titles, an Ultimate Endurance Match was announced for Brutalism in three weeks on iPPV. Petrie said that a problem that fans had was that they didn’t know what the fuck that meant. Mears said that the Ultimate Endurance Match would see four teams compete; The Inevitable, Maximum Dynamite, Midnight Special, and Thot Chocolate. “The first fall of the match will be tornado rules, with the first team pinned being eliminated. The second fall would be a submission match with the first team to submit being eliminated, the final fall will see the World Tag Team Titles suspended above the ring in a ladder match.” Mears said. “That sounds needlessly complicated.” Petrie remarked. “That’s wrestling!” Mears replied before throwing to the ring for the opening contest.

— Josie Wales vs. Combo XL The first contest of the night saw the debut of “The Outlaw” Josie Wales take on the massive piece of human that is Combo XL. Combo did the standard big guy schtick and no-sold a bicycle kick from Wales right off the hop. “I’ve seen Wales in action before and I have no idea how any of her moveset is going to be effective against someone like Combo XL.” Mears said. Combo rushed Wales and using Combo’s momentum, Wales got him up with a flapjack that sent Combo face first into the top turnbuckle. Combo wasn’t taken off of his feet but a second bicycle kick sent him back into a corner. “Well that kinda worked.” Petrie said. Wales rushed in and hit a knee to Combo’s mid-section and then put him face first into the mat with a drop toe. Wales impressively transitioned over into Spirit of St. Louis (Havana Dreams). Somehow The Outlaw was able to lock Combo in the hold and after about ninety seconds in the hold, Combo passed out. Winner: Josie Wales

— Consolation Prize Josie Wales whipped her hair back and wore a confident smile as she kicked away Combo XL after her victory. The Outlaw exited the ring, made her way to the commentary desk and swiped one of the headsets from Matt Mears. “I hope you all took notice!” Wales said with a confident smile. Wales kicked up her boots on the desk after taking a seat and put her black Stetson hat back on. “For years and years, I had only fought women in this industry. But now…now it’s time for the real prize…” She said with a smirk on her model-like face. “I ain’t fighting a woman no more. Nah. Each and every man in this industry, I’m calling you all out!  You have gold that belongs to me. I’m out for the real prize in this industry, and not some consolation prize because of my gender.” She said boldly. “As for Samantha Hamilton… our Intrepid Champion… She should be counting her blessings, because she’s dodging a bullet. The women around here ain’t worth my time, and I don’t care about the Intrepid Championship while a woman is holding it.” She said, with an inverted chauvinistic way about her tone, much to the dissatisfaction of the crowd.

“I’m going after the real prize.  he OATH World Championship, and I’m going to make certain that each and every man on this roster will learn to quake in their boots when they see my name on the card, clawing up the ranks.  None of them will stop me, and none of them will ever tame me. And I’ll make damn sure my size 8 boot is going to leave a nice print on each and every one of their faces.”

The camera zoomed in on Wales as she tipped the brim of her Stetson and the scene cut. — Cassidy Colt vs. Locke Helms The next match had a little more hype than we expected. Cassidy Colt has been disappointing since his OATH debut but “The Chairman of Chaos” Locke Helm stirred up some controversy on Twitter when he called out Agustin Gates.

The match began with Colt rushing Helms only for Helms to catch Colt with an incredible Diamond Rain (Standing Moonsault Slam/C4). This got a pop from Philly and Helms held on to the momentum with a running elbow smash to Colt in the corner.

“Helms is impressive so far but I feel like he needs to watch his back. He called out The Celestial Warriors and they don’t take kindly to such things.” Petrie said.

In the corner Helms positioned Colt and executed  Gallows Tree (Locke puts his opponent into the tree of woe, hits a superkick to the gut, then follows it up with a running dropkick to the face). Colt staggered out of the corner and walked right into Downfall (Hammerlock DDT). Helms covered and secured a debut victory.

Winner: Locke Helms Right after the match “I’m A Star” cued up and all four members of the Celestial Warriors walked out onto the stage. Gates had a microphone and he said that he was happy for Helms and his victory. Gates said that it’s obvious that Helms only got a contract with OATH because the office wanted to see Gates destroy him. Gates said that Helms should never have called him out on Twitter because now he has to pay for it. “This experience is going to be bad for your soul and hell for your career.” Gates said, “When it happens. It won’t be tonight, we have bigger obstacles to overcome tonight. But you will face judgement Helms, so be prepared. Gates dropped the microphone and we cut to Helms, telling them to bring it but the Warriors did not oblige, they disappeared behind the curtain.

September 30th, 2019 Atlanta, Georgia

— Keepers “Into The Fire” cued up and Philly was on their feet as OATH World Champion, “The Seattle Saint” Finn Whelan came down to the ring, championship in tow.

Whelan entered the ring and said that his match against Erik Holland last week was the fight of his life. He said that he left that match with a few new scars but he also left that match with the World Championship. Whelan said that he is not one to live in the past and that it is time for him to look forward to his next challenger, Declan Black.

As if on cue, “The Pride of Nova Scotia” Declan Black came out onto the ramp. “I’ve been waiting for a long time champ, I sent Brando packing after our Broadway Match last month and I’ll get rid of TERROR tonight with no problem.” Black said.

Whelan just looked on from the ring as Black slowly sauntered to the ring.

“You claim to be the standard here in OATH. You claim to be the best wrestler in this company. That title over your shoulder should signify that. Your place on all promotional materials should be because of that. But you aren’t Finny. I am. You had to cheat to beat me, something that you said you would never do and that is why you are champion and not me.” Black said. “But at Brutalism we will fix all of that. You are no OATH Keeper and you’ll see why on September 30th.”

A beat.

“As for now, I have a match to get ready for. I suggest you watch closely because the real champion is about to go to work.” Black said and turned to make his way back toward the curtain. As Black reached the top of the ramp, “Best of You” cued up and “The GOAT” Jake Archer walked out onto the stage. Archer and Black exchanged glances, with Black just scoffing and disappearing through the curtain.

Archer presented a microphone and Philly gave him a warm welcome. “OATH Keeper, that’s a name that I came up with Champ and you stole it. You may have beaten me a few weeks ago but you aren’t the face of this company pal, you aren’t The GOAT. I am. You won that title by defeating Assface Gates and I beat him last week. I’d say that I’m in line for a shot.” Archer said. “You beat Erik Holland last week and lets be honest, that’s not the hardest thing to do given how insane he’s been acting around here lately.”

An “ooooh” rose up from the crowd, best not to insult someone known as The Most Dangerous.

“I’m out here to officially challenge you to a rematch Champ. I want my shot at the gold so how about next week you show Black exactly what kind of champion you–”

Before Archer could finish his thought a cautionary sound rose up from the audience in Philly. Erik Holland came stomping down the ramp. Archer turned around just in time for Holland to crack him in the face with a bicycle kick. Holland motioned for Whelan to stay put as Holland dragged Archer up the ramp.

“Look at Holland’s eyes, there is nothing human about him right now.” Matt Mears said.

Holland brought Archer to the top of the ramp but Archer broke Holland’s hold with a knee to the mid-section. Archer then went for a jumping superkick but Holland caught Archer’s leg, swung him effortlessly and sent Archer flying off of the stage! Archer landed with a thud on the concrete outside the ring which drew a massive gasp from Philly. Holland stood at the edge of the stage, staring down at Archer. Whatever humanity was left in Holland is gone.

— Maximum Dynamite vs. Thot Chocolate The next match had justified hype behind it. Maximum Dynamite made their entrance and were then followed by the newest tag team in OATH, Thot Chocolate! Cartier and SILK made their way to the ring via an elaborate entrance but Max D was not having it.

Dynamite sent Maximum flying over the top rope with an assisted cross body that took both Cartier and SILK down. Max D then went to work on Thot Chocolate on the outside, introducing them to various hard objects around ringside. Dynamite then got Cartier in the ring and the match began. Dynamite went for a running boot but Cartier evaded it, climbed to the top rope and took Dynamite down with a meteora.

On the outside Maximum rushed SILK only for SILK to smack Maximum with a spinning back fist that nearly knocked Maximum out of his boots. SILK then slid up onto the apron to receive the tag from Cartier. Both members of Thot Chocolate hit opposing ropes and then sandwiched Dynamite with Thot Fudge Sundae (Both Cartier and SILK hit a Rear View on their opponent at the same time.)

At this time Thot Chocolate was closing in on the victory when Midnight Special came stomping to the ring. The Inevitable were right behind them. The Inevitable rushed Midnight Special and knocked both members down with stereo forearm shots that got a big pop from Philly. “Wait, what the hell is he doing here?” Mears said. What he was referring to was that out of nowhere, Combo XL appeared! Josh Cherry, who was down on the ramp told Leah and Stephanie Matsuda to turn around. The duo turned to see Combo XL and before they could react he ran right through them with a double clothesline.

“What the hell is this?” Matt Mears asked.

“It looks like Midnight Special gained some back up.” Ben Petrie replied.

The trio of Midnight Special and Combo XL made their way to the ring but not to get involved. Maximum approached the trio and told them to get lost, ignoring that his partner was in trouble in the ring. Trouble was an understatement because in the ring Thot Chocolate nailed Dynamite with Sweet Tooth (SILK gets the opponent up in a wheelbarrow lift and Cartier jumps off the top rope and connects with a Codebreaker as SILK leans forward to drive the opponent into the Codebreaker with as much force as possible). SILK covered and Thot Chocolate won in their debut.

Winners: Thot Chocolate

Outside the ring Midnight Special and Combo XL applauded Thot Chocolate’s victory but the winners paid them no mind, they wanted to bask in their success.

— Mother! In the backstage area Veronica Taylor was shown having her hair done by the woman that we now know is her mother, whom for the moment we’ll just call Mrs. Taylor. Veronica told Mrs. Taylor that tonight is extremely important and if Mrs. Taylor makes one wrong move during the match then Veronica would say goodbye to her forever. Mrs. Taylor promised to her “little princess” that tonight would see another victory for the Taylor Family.

— Agustin Gates & Carlos Cruz vs. Casey Holliday & Salvador Blanco The Celestial Warriors hit the ring to a massive chorus of boos but you know those guys, they relish moments like this. Casey Holliday and her defacto tag team partner Salvador Blanco were out next. Blanco attempted to start the match with a handshake offering to the Warriors, which they both accepted. Gates and Cruz then went to shake Holliday’s hand. Holliday glanced over to Blanco for reassurance and the luchador nodded. Holliday then shook the Warriors respective hands but looked unhappy about it.

The match began with Gates and Holliday. Gates tried to sucker Holliday into a clothesline but Holiday ducked under it and then hit a springboard tornado DDT that sent Gates into the mat hard. Holliday quickly tagged in Blanco who hit Gates with a springboard senton and covered for a two count.

Blanco could not maintain control because Gates caught him with a discus clothesline. Gates then tagged in Cruz and Cruz hit Blanco with The Ultimate Sacrifice (Springboard Cutter). Cruz then quickly tagged Gates back in and held Blanco’s arms back. Gates went for The Majestic Knee (Busaiku Knee) but Blanco moved and Gates hit Cruz!

Cruz slid to the outside to recover against the guard rail. The audience popped when a figure in the crowd grabbed Cruz from behind and pulled him into the audience. The figure pummelled Cruz in the audience as the match continued in the ring. Blanco hit Gates with a spinning back elbow and then sent him into his corner. Blanco tagged in Holliday and then hit Gates with a turnbuckle crucifix powerbomb. Holliday climbed to the top rope and hit a diving elbow drop for a two count.

“Holliday is about to put away Gates and strike a blow for women competitors everywhere!” Mears said.

“Oh calm down.” Petrie said.

Holliday set Gates up for Stock Plunge (Corkscrew Neckbreaker) but Gates spin out of it and planted Holliday with Adieu (Uranage). Gates then went to tag in his partner but Cruz was nowhere to be found! Holliday recovered and rolled Gates up for a quick three count!

Winners: Casey Holliday & Salvador Blanco

After the bell the camera once again focussed on the crowd where Cruz was getting his ass whooped. The figure that attacked him stood up and showed his face.

“That’s Locke Helms! He’s going after the Celestial Warriors before they can go after him!” Mears said.

Helms hopped the barricade and slid into the ring. Helms went after Gates but Gates exited the ring as fast as he could. Gates ran backwards up the ramp, a serious fear in his eyes. Holliday and Blanco both looked confused, apparently unaware of what transpired.

— Jumping The Line In the backstage area Intrepid Champion Samantha Hamilton was shown in the backstage area, situating herself in front of a monitor to watch the Intrepid Title Contendership Match. Before the champion could get comfortable, a figure appeared and got Hamilton’s attention.

“I’m surprised to see you walking after last week.” Hamilton said.

Miguel Villalobos stood before her, his arms crossed. He had a production assistant beside him. Villalobos began speaking in Spanish. The production assistant translated. “Do not worry about my health. You have had an easy run as Intrepid Champion so far and it is a disgrace. I may not be involved in this contender’s match coming up next but I am standing here in front of you now.” Hamilton does not look at all bothered, “Miguel I have said that I will defend this championship anywhere against anyone. The OATH officials made this contendership match but if you are issuing a challenge then I am not going to refute it. If you want a shot, you’ve got it.”

Villalobos smirked, “Espero tu funeral.” he said before walking away.

The production assistant went to translate but Hamilton stopped him. “I know what he said. And it’s bullshit.”

Intrepid Championship Contender’s Match Catriona MacKenzie vs. Veronica Taylor w/ Mrs. Taylor Accompanied by her loving mother, Veronica Taylor seemed poised to continue her rise to affirm her self-proclaimed status as “The First Lady of OATH”. Catriona MacKenzie on the other hand was looking to earn yet another shot at the Intrepid Championship after challenging unsuccessfully last week.

The match began with MacKenzie looking for a tie-up right off the bat but Veronica stopped MacKenzie in her tracks and then went to speak with her mother. MacKenzie looked displeased. MacKenzie didn’t let this bullshit go on for long as she went for a bicycle superkick but Mrs. Taylor warned her daughter and Veronica moved out of the way. MacKenzie got caught up on the top rope and Veronica hit her with a hard kick to the thigh.

Veronica then went to work on MacKenzie’s thigh with various leg submissions. Veronica then switched it up and went for a corner foot choke but MacKenzie blocked it, bounced Veronica’s head off of the top turnbuckle and then sent Veronica across the ring. MacKenzie hit a handspring stinger splash but it seemed like she tweaked her leg on the move.

MacKenzie lifted Veronica up for Beam Me Up Scottie (Fireman’s Carry Drop into a Knee Lift) but Veronica slid out of it and took MacKenzie down with a chop block. Veronica looked for the Beauty Improvement Pass (Curb Stomp) but MacKenzie slid out of it and hit Veronica with a leg feed spinning mule kick.

MacKenzie then locked in the Lassie Lock (Scorpion Cross Lock) and while the referee was concerned with getting a verbal submission from Veronica, Mrs. Taylor got up on the apron and threw glitter in MacKenzie’s face!

“A vile weapon! Glitter!” Petrie said.

MacKenzie had to break the hold and Veronica recovered with another chop block and then Exed Out (Roll Of The Dice). Veronica covered and got the three count.

Winner: Veronica Taylor

Veronica slid out of the ring, now the proud owner of an Intrepid Title match. Mrs. Taylor tried to hug her daughter but Veronica shoved her away and demanded that her mother “Stay out of my spotlight!”. The camera focussed in on Veronica, cutting her mother out of the shot.

— Earn It In the backstage area May O’Neil welcomed Casey Holliday and Salvador Blanco into the interview area. O’Neil congratulated the team on their victory but Holliday stopped O’Neil.

“We saw the footage of what happened. Salvador and I are not the type of people who like to win under such circumstances. We don’t like the Celestial Warriors but we respect them as competitors so if they want to–”

Holliday stopped speaking when new OATH signee “The Outlaw” Josie Wales walked into frame. Holliday looked concerned at first but Wales walked right past Holliday, paying no attention to her. Wales got in Blanco’s face.

“Ola compadre. A grand win you had out there, letting a woman get the victory for ya. Dunno if ya saw what ol’ Josie had to say earlier but I’m looking for competition of the male variety. Ya just got a win but ya didn’t really earn it. How ‘bout ya try to earn a victory next week against The Outlaw?” Wales said.

Blanco simply nodded.

“Boy howdy. I’m glad ya ain’t scared of losing. I figured as much, given yer record here in OATH. I’ll see ya next week compadre. Get yet affairs in order.” Wales said.

Before leaving the scene Wales turned to Holliday and with a tip of her Stetson she simply said, “Ma’am.” and walked off. — Declan Black vs. TERROR Main event time and after both competitors made their entrances, OATH World Champion Finn Whelan made his way to the ring. Whelan put the championship on the commentary table and then took a seat beside Matt Mears.

The match began with both men coming nose to nose. Black stepped away and pantomimed waving the air away from his nose, as if to say that TERROR had bad breath. How rude. TERROR didn’t seem to care he just stepped forward and got back in Black’s face. Black goes for a punch, TERROR blocked with the unflinching coldness of a movie monster. TERROR reared back and blasted Black with a headbutt that sent “The Pride of Nova Scotia” staggering backward. Black tried to rally but TERROR cracked him with the Out of the Shadows (Superkick) that sent Black dramatically over the top rope to the outside.

Black knew that if he didn’t get up right away then TERROR would take advantage. He was half right. Black got up quickly but TERROR came flying through the ropes with a suicide dive. TERROR recovered instantly and then sent Black head first into the solid steel steps. Black found himself seated with his back to the steps when TERROR came running in with a knee to Black’s face.

“It seems like Declan was not ready for TERROR here tonight,” Whelan said. “He tends to make a habit of underestimating people.”

“Match is far from over, champ.” Ben Petrie said.

“It may not take long at this rate.” Whelan responded.

After breaking the twenty count but half heartedly rolling into the ring, only to exit again, TERROR took hold of Black and walked him around ringside. TERROR’s ears must have been burning because he walked Black over to the announce table and stared at Whelan.

“What the hell do you want?” Whelan said.

“This is your challenger.” TERROR yelled.

TERROR took Black’s head and went to bounce it off the announce table but Black blocked it with an elbow to the mid-section and took TERROR Down with In The Black (Regal Cutter). As Black recovered from the early onslaught, TERROR crawled toward the steel steps and used them to pull himself up but Black came to life, ran, and dropkicked TERROR’s arm into the ring steps.

“What a move from Black. I think I saw TERROR’s arm bend in a very unnatural way.” Mears said.

Black took TERROR and slid him back into the ring. Once in the ring TERROR tried to rally back with a wild haymaker but Black caught TERROR’s arm and trapped him in a kimura, one very similar to Whelan’s The Underdog. Black wrenched back on TERROR’s arm and then turned to stare at Whelan, with a smirk.

“I feel like I’ve seen that move before.” Whelan said.

“Some might say that he would be doing it better.” Petrie said.

“Those people would be called dumb.” Whelan retorted.

Black seemed more concerned with sending a message to Whelan than properly applying the hold because TERROR broke the hold and pulled Black into Ohio is for Killers (Kneeling back to belly piledriver). TERROR covered with one arm but Black was able to kick out.

TERROR showed his first semblance of emotion as he relentlessly stomped on Black. TERROR looked out to Whelan and said, “He’s not going to make it to Atlanta!” before hitting Black with a straight punt to Black’s face.

TERROR got Black up and Black’s mouth was bloodied from that last kick. TERROR went for Blood Rain (Rainmaker) but Black was familiar with that move. Black ducked under it and went for his Blackout (Rainmaker) but TERROR knew the counter for that. TERROR went for Out of the Shadows (Superkick) but Black evaded it and pulled TERROR into a double knee arm breaker. TERROR let out in pain and then Black nailed him with Whelan’s Revelation 6:4 (The Bitter End) for the pinfall and the win.

Winner: Declan Black

Black collapsed after his victory but sent a message to Whelan after using the latter’s finisher to win. Whelan got up from the announce table and took hold of his championship. Whelan took his time entering the ring and when he did, Black stood right up. A bloodied Black stood face to face with the champion Whelan and the camera zoomed in before we faded out to end Episode V.
