Episode VI September 16th, 2019 Baltimore, Maryland

— Words, Just Words The camera started up and we were shown darkness before suddenly there was a bright flash of light as a match was struck and a candle was lit. There in the dim light was none other than the “Chairman of Chaos” himself, Locke Helms. “A short time ago, you Agustin Gates stated that you were, and I quote, “the man for the job” when it pertains to challenging the current Intrepid Champion for OATH Wrestling. I made a simple comment and rather politely asked you if you wanted to tempt me.” Helms said, and pulled his hood away from his face, to reveal the unsmiling visage of the “Chairman”. “And tempt me you did, Agustin. You asked “And you are?” and I responded. Yet you didn’t understand simple English and that gave me the need to come and introduce myself properly.” A small smile appears on Helms’ face. “I did just that, I came to OATH and spoke the language of violence and yet, you came down and made your usual “decrees”. You refused to be a man when I invited you to come down and to “introduce” myself face to face.” Helms said. “You were so quick to hide behind your brothers that I felt that I needed to introduce myself to them too. One by one, starting with the only brother that I actually hold any respect for. Making me attack Carlos actually made one of the last remaining shards of my “soul” ache with regret, but yet you kept on talking, Agustin.” The smile slips from Helms’ face as he slowly shook his head. “All you do is say words…just words. Things that have no meaning behind them because there is nothing behind those vacant eyes of yours, as vacant as that hollow place where your soul should be.” “Once I am done dealing with Carlos, I want you to be a man Augstin and face me like you should’ve done in the first place. Otherwise…” Helms reached out and pinched the flame atop the candle, plunging the room into darkness, from which his voice can still be heard. “We will remind you why you should be afraid of the dark.”

— Opening Following the OATH signature we cut to the arena in Baltimore. The crowd was as hot as two dollar pistol and ready to see some fuckin’ wrasslin’. Ben Petrie and Matt Mears were at ringside and promised an incredible show to be headlined by an Intrepid Championship defense from “The Titaness” Samantha Hamilton as she looks for her third defense against Miguel Villalobos.

Petrie then announced that following the main event, Number One Contender to the World Title Declan Black would meet champion Finn Whelan in the ring and the two would participate in a Pick Your Poison challenge, each man choosing an opponent for the other to face next week in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mears then threw to a recap of “The Outlaw” Josie Wales from last week saying that she has no interest in facing women in OATH as she doesn’t see them as real competition. Then later in the show she challenged OATH stalwart Salvador Blanco to a match, which led us to the opening contest. — Josie Wales vs. Salvador Blanco Josie Wales showed her attitude toward the OATH Original by giving him a pat on the head right after the bell. Ever the good guy, Salvador Blanco held out his hand for his signature handshake. Wales kicked Blanco’s hand away but he picked her leg and put her on her back with a double leg takedown.

“Salvador Blanco is one of the Original 8 here in OATH, he paved the way for someone like Wales.” Matt Mears said.

“Yeah but he’s been getting run over lately.” Ben Petrie said in retort.

The Outlaw seemed frustrated and charged Blanco but caught her with a spinning back elbow. Wales staggered around the ring in a daze which afforded Blanco enough time to take her down with a running huricanranna. The White Saviour covered but only got a two count.

Blanco had the crowd on his side when he went for a springboard moonsault but Wales moved. The luchador was able to land on his feet but got put down with a bicycle kick immediately after. Wales then rolled Blanco all over the mat with a gator roll and then lifted him up for a hammerlock suplex but Blanco back flipped and landed on his feet.

Wales stood with her back to Blanco, fuming but when Blanco shot on her, Wales turned and cracked him in the head with high roundhouse kick. Wales then caught him with a jumping knee to the chin and put him down with the Rio Lobo Driver (Quackendriver 3). Wales covered and got the three count.

Winner: Josie Wales

Wales sent Blanco to the outside and then collected a microphone. Wales was short and sweet with her words, she said that if Miguel Villalobos is successful in defeating Samantha Hamilton for the Intrepid Championship later in the show, then she wants the first shot at Brutalism.

— Lumberjill The scene is an area draped with black curtains. Two seats sit in the middle of the frame. May O’Neil occupies one seat. Catriona MacKenzie enters and sits opposite O’Neil.

“Ms. MacKenzie, welcome. I wanted to get your thoughts on your latest match against Veronica Taylor with a shot at the Intrepid Title on the line. Some people are saying that had Veronica’s mother not gotten involved, you’d have won. Your thoughts?”

Catriona crosses her legs at her knees and leans against the back of the chair.

“Yeah… I would’ve won because Veronica was close to giving out. But I guess her and her ‘mother’s’ true colors were showing when they took the coward’s way out. I say both of them because you and I both know that Veronica had a hand in planning it. They cheated to win because I was a true threat. That match was as good as mine… everyone knows it.”

A ‘pfft’ sound escapes from Catriona’s lips as she rolls her eyes.

“What is next for Catriona? Clearly you want another shot at the Intrepid Title but there are many competitors standing in your way. Where does the Outlander go from here

“First off… its Highlander Era… not Outlander. Outlander is a very good TV show though. Honestly, you really need to get your facts straight if you’re going to be considered a good interviewer.”

A deep sigh escapes from MacKenzie’s lips.

“I want a shot at any of the titles to be quite frank because I’m one of, if not the, only person on the roster who is deserving because I go out there every week, putting my body on the line and hyping up my matches. Hell… I did more work for my last one than Veronica did and yet. She couldn’t be bothered to do anything other than tweet two silly little rebuttal attempts.”

Catriona keeps her back against the chair, putting her one arm up on the top of the back.

“But tonight… tonight I’m facing Hanna Aksana bo-bannah. Banana fanna fo-fannah, Fee, fy, mo-mannah. And what I’m going to do to her… is not going to be too pretty because I’m going to be envisioning Veronica’s face on hers. I’m having to start right back at square one and that’s fine… because I’m not going to stop until I get what is rightfully mine. Everyone who steps into my path… well they’re going to fall like a freshly cut tree.”

— Catriona MacKenzie vs. Hanna Akana The next match saw The Highlander Catriona MacKenzie take on newcomer Hanna Akana. Off the bell Akana told MacKenzie to hold up so Akana could pose for the fans in attendance. MacKenzie was having none of it and she charged in with a bicycle superkick. Akana avoided it and rolled MacKenzie up for a two count.

Akana transitioned into an arm bar that surprised MacKenzie but MacKenzie fought up, lifted Akana and slammed her hard onto the mat. MacKenzie went for a stomp but Akana rolled out of the way, popped up and went for a tornado ddt. MacKenzie went head first into the mat Akana covered and hit another pose as the referee counted.

“She seems to be very into…herself.” Matt Mears said.

MacKenzie kicked out but Akana kicked her right in the face. The camera zoomed in on MacKenzie’s face and she looked quite angry. Akana noticed this and backed away, begging off. MacKenzie closed in on Akana but Akana went for an eye poke. MacKenzie blocked it and sent Akana face first into the corner.

“I think that The Highlander is a little miffed,” Ben Petrie said. “Can’t imagine why.”

MacKenzie sent Akana hard into the opposing turnbuckle and then hit her with a handspring stinger splash. Akana stumbled forward right into the Beam Me Up Scottie (GTS) from MacKenzie. The Highlander covered and got a three count.

Winner: Catriona MacKenzie

— Best Friends The camera cut backstage to Nina Stokes in the women’s locker room. An aura of aloofness surrounded her as she stretches for the upcoming tag team match. After stretching out, she stands up and let out an exasperated sigh.

The camera then panned to Veronica Taylor, who had walked in with a smug grin on her face. Next to Veronica is her mother who is holding Veronica’s water bottle. The smug supermodel shot a disgusted look toward her “partner”.

“So its been awhile partner, miss me?” Veronica said.

“Nope.” Stokes said.

Nina didn’t even acknowledge the two women as she placed her items in a nearby locker.

Veronica rolled her eyes, as she is soon handed her bottle of water and took a sip before she handed it back.

“Well lucky you getting the best partner you could get. The number one contender to the Intrepid title Veronica Taylor, and don’t worry about what happened to HKW is all in the past love. But, see tonight they got me teaming with you. Like what a cause for celebration!” Veronica said smugly.

Nina closed the locker completely before she turned and walked up to Veronica.

“I’m going to waste very little time and sanity on you tonight. So, listen closely,” She took another step forward. “I don’t like you. You and I? We’ll never be cool. You assaulted my mother, and something that can’t be washed away with some bullshit words.”

There was a pause.

“I urge you to protect your neck tonight. Because if I decided to haul off and beat the shit out of you? Well, there will be nothing you or your mother can do to stop me.” Nina said and raised an eyebrow.

“Is that clear enough for you?”

Veronica rolled her eyes and held up her hands before saying, “Okay, pause there. First of all, how rude! “

Her mother piped up.

“Veronica…” she began saying.

Veronica held her hand up to her mother’s face.

“Not now mother..,” Veronica said. “Second, we don’t have to be cool. Hell, you’re not gonna sit with me at catering after this. We just need to beat those cretins known as The Inevitable. Like, it shouldn’t be super hard. But, it would be easier if we can at least agree on that. Because let’s be real I am not thrilled with this, I got bigger and better things to deal with honestly.”

Nina smirked after having listened to Veronica’s words. However, her demeanor did alter.

“You’ve been warned.” Nina said.

And with that, Nina exited the locker room, leaving mother and daughter standing next to each other.

“Veronica…” Mrs. Taylor began.

Veronica rolled her eyes before saying.

“Not now mother! Ugh this night can’t end soon enough.”

Veronica rolled her eyes and sighed in a disgusted tone as the scene faded to black.

— The Inevitable vs. Nina Stokes & Veronica Taylor w/ Mrs. Taylor The Inevitable made their entrance to great fanfare. We cut back to last week where Combo XL assisted Midnight Special in their fight against The Inevitable. Nina Stokes made her entrance next and once she was in the ring, number one contender to the Intrepid Championship, Veronica Taylor came to the ring accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Taylor.

Stokes and Veronica argued about who would start the contest and Veronica relented, letting Stokes take the lead against Leah. Stokes caught Leah with a shoot kick into a knee smash right off the hop but Leah was able to roll back to her corner and tag in Stephanie Matsuda.

Matsuda shot into the ring with a springboard lariat that took Stokes down and then the two went back and forth. Stokes caught Matsuda with A Slice of Grace (Throat Punch) and then took her into an arm bar but Stokes was very close to her own corner. With Matsuda trapped in the hold, Veronica took the opportunity to make a blind tag.

Confused as to why her partner would tag in at such a moment, Stokes broke the hold and started arguing with Veronica. This gave Matsuda the opportunity to hit both Stokes and Veronica with a shotgun dropkick. Matsuda tagged in Leah and together they hit Stokes and Veronica with Double Yahtzee (Stereo Superkicks).

With momentum on the side of The Inevitable, the action was interrupted by the arrival of Thot Chocolate. Cartier and SILK sauntered to the ring with a microphone and SILK explained that they were coming to interview The Inevitable about the OATH Tag Team Title match at Brutalism. Both Leah and Matsuda looked irate.

The referee made both illegal competitors go to the apron as Thot Chocolate continued to make their way to the ring. Stokes made a blind tag to Veronica and entered the ring, hitting Matsuda off of the apron with Divine Night (Elbow Smash). SILK then approached Matsuda on the outside and asked her what she expected the result of the tag match at Brutalism to be, even though Matsuda was downed. Leah was distracted by SILK and this provided Stokes the opportunity to hit Leah with Amidst the Shadow of Sorrows III (Boma Ye Knee Strike). Stokes covered and got the three count.

Winners: Nina Stokes & Veronica Taylor

Stokes immediately left the ring, not caring about the victory. Veronica and her mother celebrated in the ring as both Cartier and SILK acted incredulous at ringside. The shot then cut to the backstage area where Maximum Dynamite was beating down Combo XL.

Midnight Special arrived on the scene backstage and attacked Maximum Dynamite but this brawl was quickly broken up by security.

— Serious In a private studio, Jake Archer was shown. Archer said that it is his ultimate goal to become OATH World Champion but he needs to make a stop before challenging for the title. Footage was shown from last week where Erik Holland attacked Archer and tossed him off the stage.

Archer explained that Holland has always been unpredictable but Archer never expected Holland to come after him for no reason. Archer said that he and Holland are no strangers but last week Holland tried to end his career, that changes things.

Archer knows that he has been considered a goofy competitor for a long time but that he knows that if he gets into the ring with Holland, he needs to take it seriously. Archer said that he plans to.

The GOAT announced that he asked management for a match against Holland at Brutalism and that it had been granted. Archer said that Holland may be The Most Dangerous, but Archer is bringing a completely different Jake Archer to Atlanta.

— Carlos Cruz vs. Locke Helms This next match…wasn’t a match. Carlos Cruz came to the ring without any of his Celestial Warriors brothers and when Locke Helms came down the ramp, Agustin Gates was right behind him and nailed Helms with a Dethroned (Discus Clothesline) to the back of the head.

Cruz met his brother on the ramp and together they took turns throwing Helms’ body into every solid structure at ringside. Following a The Majestic Knee (Busaiku Knee) from Gates, Cruz confiscated a microphone and gave it to his brother.

“You are a disruption, Helms. You are not a Godly man and you must be dispatched. At Brutalism, you and I will go one on one. It will be your first pay per view match in OATH, but it will also be your farewell. You are keeping me from my greater calling…and I simply cannot have that.” Gates said.

After a stiff boot as an exclamation point, Gates and Cruz walked up the ramp. Once they disappeared behind the curtain the shot switch back to Helms. Helms was hurting but he began laughing, as if he expected something like this to happen.

— Support In the backstage area we saw Miguel Villalobos heading towards the curtain. A stagehand approached him and handed him a note. Villalobos snatched it from the stage hand and opened it. The camera peered over Villalobos’ shoulder and the note was written in the world’s messiest penmanship. It simply said, “Good luck!” and was signed with a T. — Intrepid Championship Miguel Villalobos vs. Samantha Hamilton © Once both competitors were in the ring, the ring announcer made the introductions. Usually Villalobos is seething and ready to explode at this point in a match but here he was reserved and almost seemed calm. When Hamilton got her introduction, she held her title high with pride before she handed it over to the referee.

When the bell rang, Hamilton marched to the middle of the ring showing no fear. Villalobos met her there and the two had a stare down. There was a moment of tension before Hamilton cracked Villalobos with a right hand. Villalobos ate it and then let Hamilton have another. She obliged. This happened a few more times before Villalobos let out a primal howl and hit Hamilton with a headbutt.

Villalobos then took wrist control and doubled Hamilton over with an arm wrench. Villalobos dropped an elbow onto her arm joint and then took her down to the mat with a laying arm bar. Hamilton fought out but then Villalobos took her down repeatedly with a series of arm drags. Hamilton looked surprised.

“Miguel Villalobos is not known as a ‘technical wrestler’. He seems to be throwing Hamilton off her game by not brawling.” Matt Mears said.

Hamilton went for a kick but Villalobos caught it and attempted a dragon screw but Hamilton applied a front face lock. Villalobos quickly fought out, hit a stiff right hand to Hamilton’s jaw and then planted her with Ay Dios Mio (Chokebomb).

“Hamilton landed right on the back of her head! She is seeing stars!” Ben Petrie said.

Petrie was right, the champion rolled to the outside to compose herself but The Wolf could smell blood and went right after her. Villalobos hit Hamilton with an elbow to the back of the head and then he hit her with a back suplex where the back of Hamilton’s head hit the guard rail.

Villalobos rolled Hamilton back into the ring and when he went after her with a lariat, Hamilton evaded it out of instinct and caught Villalobos in Exiled To Tartarus (Sleeper Hold). The audience in Norfolk erupted as Hamilton tried to put Villalobos to sleep but Villalobos pushed Hamilton back into the nearest corner to break the hold. Following a scoop slam, Villalobos went to the top rope.

Knowing that her title was in serious jeopardy, Hamilton instinctively got to her feet and fell towards the corner, hitting the ropes and caused Villalobos to lose his balance. Hamilton then climbed up to the top rope with him and hit him with Defying The Gods (Frankensteiner). Hamilton covered but Villalobos kicked out.

Hamilton got her wits about her again and sent Villalobos into the ropes. She attempted a backdrop but Villalobos was more present of mind, he took hold of her head and dropped her with Santa Muerte (Cradle Piledriver) for a near fall. Villalobos kept working Hamilton’s head with some stomps and once he felt that she was worn down enough, Villalobos set Hamilton up for La Mordida del Lobo (One-handed Electric Chair Driver) but Hamilton reversed it into a victory roll to get the pinfall victory.

Winner: Still Intrepid Champion, Samantha Hamilton

Following the bell, Villalobos rolled out of the ring but Veronica Taylor appeared on the ramp with her mother, Mrs. Taylor. Veronica pointed at the ring and her mother reluctantly jogged to the ring and stole the Intrepid Title from the referee. Mrs. Taylor then jogged back up the ramp and handed the title to her daughter. Veronica held it up before disappearing behind the curtain.

— Pick Your Poison Following a commercial break, OATH Interviewer May O’Neil was in the ring. O’Neil said that at Brutalism the main event would see Declan Black challenge Finn Whelan for the World Championship.

“Right now, both competitors will be welcomed to the ring for a face-to-face summit. During this summit, each wrestler will choose an opponent for the other for next week at Conviction VII.” O’Neil said.

The strains of Ashley MacIssac drew a mixed reaction from Baltimore, largely boos, as Black strode out in a resplendent turquoise suit. He arrogantly strutted to the ring, his blue William Painter sunglasses projected an image of douchery unmatched in all of OATH. Finn Whelan was out next to a big reaction. The OATH World Champion came to the ring but before he could even enter, Black had a microphone. Black said that he wanted to hear from Whelan first but the champion gave Black the floor.

Black said that Whelan claims to be the OATHKeeper and yet there is another champion on the roster who is working harder than him. Black said that he wants Whelan to face Samantha Hamilton next week on Conviction in a champion vs. champion match.

Whelan did not seem bothered, he said that he would be happy to take on a competitor the calibre of Hamilton. Whelan said that his choice for Black to face is Miguel Villalobos but he challenged Black to really prove his wrestling accumen by facing Villalobos in a no disqualification match. Black seemed taken aback at first but agreed, saying that it doesn’t matter the environment. “I am OATH.” Black said. The two men then came face to face as the show came to a close.
