KICKOFF SHOWCASE
— Aura Everton (OATH) def. Endo Kuma (Kakumai) Aura Everton took on Endo Kuma next with the winner advancing to the finals of the Showcase Series. Kuma back Everton up early with a series of big kicks and then went for a handspring roundhouse kick in the corner but Everton hit one well placed punch to the jaw, which dropped Kuma. Everton pounced and hit Kuma with the Last Call (Leaping DDT) to pick up the victory. — Wendy Wynne (OATH) def. Kozutsami Jiro (Kakumai) The second semi-final match saw bad boy Kozutsami Jiro take on “The Wicked Witch” Wendy Wynne. Jiro tried to flick a lit cigarette at Wynne early but Wynne swatted it away. Jiro tried to shoot in on Wynne but she caught him with a high standing dropkick. Jiro fought back by shoving Wynne into the ropes and he hit her with a hard elbow to the face. Jiro beat Wynne down for a time. Jiro then arrogantly pinned Wynne and this seemed to piss her off. Wynne kicked out at three and then hit Jiro with Bad Karma (Standing Shiranui). Wynne applied For the Wynne (Texas Cloverleaf) and Jiro had no choice but to tap out. — Brie Marie, Tanay Wilson, & The Dynasty def. Yanagi Leiko, Sumisu Hanae & The Gomi Boys The final contest of the Kickoff Show was chaos. The Gomi Boys rushed Brie Marie and Tanay Wilson right off the hop but The Dynasty had their back. The Dynasty hit Hirosh Gomi with Final Vindication (Total Elimination) and then Marie hit Kazu Gomi with Shining Dash Attack (Shining wizard). Yanagi Leiko and Sumisi Hanae tried to rush Wilson but she lowbridged the top rope and they spilled to the outside. The Dynasty hit Hiroshi with Shadow Kick (Stereo Dropkicks) which sent him right into Sonic Boom (Fireman’s carry dropped into a shoot kick) from Marie who covered for the victory.
MAIN SHOW
— Arrival Before the opening signature played we saw a black Maybach roll into the parking garage. The back door opened and OATH World Champion, “The Pride of Nova Scotia” Declan Black stepped out of the back right passenger seat. Black was dressed in an immaculate three piece suit with the championship title slung over his shoulder. Black smirked at the camera before walking off toward the arena. In a new shot a yellow taxi cab arrived at the front door of the arena. There was a mob of fans waiting to get into the arena here in Tokyo and the erupted when “The Man In High Demand” Jake Archer, his bags in tow. Archer stopped to sign some autographs and then led the audience in a chant, “THE BEST! THE BEST! THE BEST!” before the scene cut.
— Opening The signature played and the Conviction logo flashed across the screen. At the commentary desk Ben Petrie and Matt Mears welcomed us to the final stop of OATH’s Japanese Tour 2019. Mears mentioned that all OATH Championships would be on the line tonight and Petrie noted that we’d always see the finals of the Showcase Series and that would start the show.
— Aura Everton vs. Wendy Wynne “New World Aura” Aura Everton took on “The Wicked Witch” Wendy Wynne in Conviction’s opening contest. The two started off with Wynne offering a handshake but Everton wasn’t buying it. Everton hit Wynne with a sharp head butt instead. Wynne evaded a clothesline attempt from Everton and went for a German suplex but Everton hooked her leg around Wynne’s and then blasted her with a back elbow. Everton tried to rush Wynne but Wynne sent her face first into the closest turnbuckle. Matt Mears reminded us that the winner of this match would get a championship opportunity of their choosing and it seems that Wynne heard him because she grabbed Wynne by the waist and threw her backward with a powerful German suplex. Wynne held on and hit Everton with another. Wynne then went for a third but Everton slipped through, crawled backward through Wynne’s legs and blasted The Wicked Witch with a forearm smash. Everton beat Wynne down with some big elbows to the collarbone and then got her up to her feet. Everton tried for her Last Call (Leaping DDT) but Wynne took her over with a Northern lights suplex and a bridge for a two count. Wynne maintained control and attempted a falcon arrow but Everton caught her with a knee to the chin. “New World Aura” dropped Wynne to all fours with a series of well placed kicks and when she went for the Sober Up (Leaping Curb Stomp) Wynne came to life and rolled Everton up for the surprise three count and the victory. Winner: Wendy Wynne
— Japanese Hospitality Wynne celebrated her victory while Everton sat, dejected. Their attention then turned to three men who hopped the barricade and surrounded the ring. Matt Mears identified them as Wrestling Kakumai stars Kozutsami Jiro and The Gomi Boys. Wynne and Everton had no choice but to stand back to back when the trio entered the ring. They were surrounded, when from the back came Brie Marie! “Dashie” slid into the ring to even the odds and an all out brawl began with Jiro taking down Everton, Marie and Wynne taking on the Gomi Boys. Security soon flooded the ring and separated all six competitors. At the top of the ramp stood Wrestling Kakumei Founder and President Shoda Shojiro with a smile on his face. Apparently Japan was not done with OATH.

— Tabula Rasa Championship – First Blood Match Alex Pierce vs. Nina Stokes © Our first title match saw “The Fire Fist Ace” Alex Pierce take on the dominant Tabula Rasa Champion, “The Kodiak” Nina Stokes, looking for her third defence in her signature First Blood Match. Matt Mears noted that Stokes has made the TB Title worth a great deal as its first champion but questioned how long she could hang on defending it so frequently. Stokes brought the toys out early. She brought a steel chair into the ring and tossed it at Pierce’s feet. Pierce kicked it out of the ring and then tied up with Stokes. After some elbows to the back of the champ’s head, Pierce sent her into the ropes but she held on and did not rebound. Pierce rushed her and got dumped over the top rope to the floor. The Kodiak charged and hit Pierce with a baseball slide that sent him hard into the guard rail. Stokes then smashed Pierce’s face of of every solid object that she could find at ringside in an effort to bust him open. Pierce stopped the onslaught with an elbow to Stokes’ mid-section and then blasted her with a discus forearm smash. “Pierce already has a goose egg forming on his forehead. Only a few more shots from Stokes and he’ll be busted wide open.” Ben Petrie said. “I love this stipulation.” Knowing that his title aspirations were quickly diminishing, Pierce sent Stokes face first into the ring post and then dropped her on the ringside padding with Stormbreaker [II] (Last Ride-style Tiger Driver). Stokes was down and out, giving Pierce the opportunity to get creative. Pierce approached the announce table and pulled out a monitor. “Yeah Pierce, you kind of have to use weapons in this one.” Petrie said. Pierce ripped the monitor away from the announce table and then moved on Stokes. Stokes, however, had armed herself with the TB Title. Stokes hit Pierce with a shoot kick into knee smash and when Pierce didn’t go down, Stokes blasted him in the face with the TB Title. Stokes then mounted Pierce and repeatedly smashed the title into his face, saying softly “Is this what you want?”. The referee winced with every shot and when Pierce was finally opened up and the referee intervened to stop any further damage. Winner: Still OATH Tabula Rasa Champion, Nina Stokes The champion relented and held her title high, it was covered in Pierce’s blood. Stokes then walked around ringside, the title over her shoulder and a sadistic smile plastered on her face. The fans in Tokyo were impressed, but many were also pretty disgusted. “Who the hell is going to be able to stop Nina Stokes?” Matt Mears said. “Alex Pierce put up a great fight but a match like this can end out of nowhere.” Petrie replied. As Stokes went to make her way up the ramp we cut back to Pierce who had shoved the referee away. His face a crimson mask, Pierce got into the ring and called out to Stokes. Pierce screamed, “This is not over!” but Stokes refused to turn around. For her, it was over.
— Pre Game As Ben Petrie and Matt Mears began setting up the 2 Out of 3 Falls tag match coming up next between Thot Chocolate and Midnight Special, Mears suddenly began clutching at the right side of his headset, as if he was trying to hear clearer about something coming through it. He then cut one of Ben’s curse laden rants off and told those watching that they’ve got to cut backstage as there’s some big melee happening between the two teams! The camera feed cut back to the Gorilla position where we saw both Thot Chocolate and Midnight Special going feverishly at each other. Carbine and SILK were exchanging blows back and forth while Cherry had Cartier on a table and was outright choking her! A few officials came into the scene but SILK and Carbine decked them before turning back on each other! One official tried to get Cherry off Cartier and when he did, Cartier got up and clotheslines him and then jumped Cherry, sending him to the ground as she began punching away at him! SILK and Carbine continued exchanging fists until Carbine was backed up through the curtain and the two found themselves on the entrance ramp! Out of nowhere came Combo XL! He hit SILK with a forearm smash to the back of the head! Combo XL and Cabine started kicking away at SILK with their backs to the entrance way when suddenly Cartier appeared all alone! She came from behind, got down on both knees and hit Combo XL and Carbine with a double low blow! Carbine fell to the ground while Combo stayed keeled over. SILK got up and nodded at Cartier, they both then grabbed Combo by his neck and tights and tossed him off of the entrance ramp! A loud smash and then electrical popping could be heard as the camera peaked over to see they tossed Combo down about twelve feet onto a table full of electrical equipment that was now all smashed up as Combo laid motionless! The crowd continued roaring and then all of a sudden, Cherry showed up, steel chair in hand! SILK was the first to turn around and got cracked by the hard steel of the chair! Cartier looked at her downed partner and then as soon as her head shifted towards Cherry she too got flattened by the chair! Cherry threw the chair down and tended to his partner Carbine. He helped him up to his feet but by the time he had, SILK and Cartier had recovered and are to their feet as well. This led to a standoff of sorts before once again they rushed each other and the fists started flying! This time though Cartier found herself matched up with Carbine and Cherry with SILK. There was a referee in the ring who had been there since before both teams anticipated entrances and he was just looking on in disbelief at what was transpiring. Both teams had made their way down to ringside, still fighting as hard as when they began backstage. Cartier went to Irish whip Carbine into the ring post but he reversed it and sent her face first into it! All the while Cherry had a similar idea to Cartier’s but instead he tossed SILK towards the ring steps but much like Carbine, SILK reversed the Irish whip attempt and it sent Cherry kneecaps first into the steps causing him to front flip over them and land hard onto the outside floor, clutching at his knees. SILK and Carbine both turned around, away from their fallen opponents and make eye contact. SILK looked towards the ring and Carbine silently obliged. They both slide in under the bottom rope and SILK told the referee to “ring the damn bell”. The referee signals for the bell and the match officially began with both Cartier and Cherry still on the ground outside of the ring.
— 2 Out of 3 Falls Midnight Special vs. Thot Chocolate Harvey Carbine and SILK locked up in the ring. SILK went for a kick to the mid-section followed by the B.J. [Break Jaws] (Stunner) but Carbine pulled him back into a sleeper hold. SILK was caught for just a moment before he lifted Carbine up and fell backward. The back suplex snapped the back of Carbine’s head off the top turnbuckle. SILK went for the quick fall but Carbine kicked out. Outside the ring Cartier and Cherry almost came to blows again but instead they took their positions in their respective corners. SILK tagged Cartier in and together they sent Carbine into the ropes and then hit him with Thot Fudge Sundae (Both Cartier and SILK hit a Rear View on their opponent at the same time). Cartier covered but again Carbine kicked out. SILK gestured to Cherry in the corner with a one finger salute and Cherry tried to get into the ring but the referee stopped him. This gave SILK some more time in the ring where he and Cartier stomped the living shit out of Carbine. Once Cherry got back on the apron, the referee made SILK do the same. “This feud has been a focal point of OATH for weeks now. Here’s hoping that this match will finally settle the issue.” Matt Mears said. Cartier slapped Carbine in the face a few times before she stood him up and went for Staten Island Slam (Alabama Slam) but Carbine slipped through and pulled Cartier over with a sunset flip pin. Cartier rolled backwards up to one knee and Carbine smashed her in the face with a knee strike. Instead of covering, Carbine turned and staggered to his corner, tagging Cherry in. “Carbine desperately needed this tag, now Thot Chocolate is going to get put in their place.” Ben Petrie remarked. Cherry entered the ring and beelined right for SILK. Cherry knocked SILK off the apron with a shotgun dropkick while Carbine took hold of Cartier. Together, Midnight Special hit Cartier with • Ultimate X-Plex (Carbine hits an X-Plex and Cherry catches them with a Back Stabber on the way down). Cherry covered Cartier and with his feet on the ropes, he secured the three count and the first fall. First Fall: Midnight Special With the first fall secured, Cherry immediately tagged Carbine back in. They got Cartier up and hit her with a second Ultimate X-Plex (Carbine hits an X-Plex and Cherry catches them with a Back Stabber on the way down). But SILK slid back into the ring and grabbed Cherry. SILK hoisted Cherry up and dumped him over the top rope with Bareback (Olympic Slam). SILK then dragged Cartier back to the Thots’ corner and tagged himself in. SILK re-entered the ring and charged Carbine but got taken over with a snap spinning powerslam. Carbine covered but SILK kicked out at two. Carbine put the boots to SILK and sent him into the corner but SILK got a boot of his own up and caught Carbine coming in. SILK then pulled Carbine in by his waistband and Carbine’s face smashed into the middle turnbuckle. SILK tagged in Carter and instead of looking for a double team, SILK returned the favour to Cherry but hitting him with a running Yakuza kick that took Cherry off the apron. SILK then slipped to the outside of the ring and looked to put the hurting on Cherry. “These two teams hate each other so much but there are rules in this match. A disqualification counts as a lost fall.” Mears said. Cartier entered the ring and hit a rising Carbine with Eat This Ass (Rear View). Cartier then hoisted Carbine up and planted him with a DDT. Cartier then hit the ropes and blasted Carbine with Empire State of Mine (Kinshasa). On the outside Cherry tried to shove SILK off and enter the ring to help his partner but SILK pushed him back and sent him into the ring steps. Cartier covered and secured the second fall. Second Fall: Thot Chocolate “This is what it has come down to! We are at one fall a piece! Which team will come out on top?” Mears said. “The one who wins the next fucking fall. Pay attention Matthew.” Petrie replied. Cartier mounted Carbine and went to lay in some shots but Carbine bucked her off and when she got to her feet he turned her inside out with a clothesline. SILK illegally entered the ring but when he rushed Carbine, Carbine hit him with a release belly to belly suplex. Carbine then began crawling toward his corner but Cherry was not there. “Harvey Carbine finds himself in serious trouble here but Josh Cherry is still laid out ringside.” Mears said. “The final fall is on the line!” With his partner out of commission, Carbine stood, composed himself and looked ready for war but war came for him and blasted him with Eat This Ass (Rear View). Cartier then dragged Carbine to her corner and went to tag in SILK but SILK was ripped off of the apron by Cherry! Cherry took hold of SILK and walked him over to the ramp. “Oh. Oh no.” Mears said. Carbine found some life and he got to his feet. Cartier went to exit the ring to help her partner but Carbine caught her in a sleeper hold. All Cartier could do was watch as Cherry took hold of SILK and dropped him with Cherry Popper (Bloody Sunday) right on the entrance ramp. The sound was brutal and SILK was laid out cold. Cartier tried to let out what we could only predict would be a series of curses but Carbine lifted her up and planted her with a sleeper slam. Cherry got up on the apron and Carbine made the tag. Midnight Special set Cartier up and hit her with a second Ultimate X-Plex (Carbine hits an X-Plex and Cherry catches them with a Back Stabber on the way down). Carbine guarded for Cherry as the latter made the cover. Cherry counted along with the referee. 1.. 2.. ..! Cartier kicked out and the crowd in Tokyo popped huge. SILK was shown starting to stir on the ramp but his forehead was busted wide open. Cherry was in shock that Cartier was able to kick out. Cherry called out to Carbine but Carbine was sent to the corner, his five count had expired. Cherry went to tag him in but Cartier took hold of Cherry’s wrist and pulled him back into the Staten Island Slam (Alabama Slam). Cartier covered. 1.. 2.. ..! Carbine entered the ring to break up the fall and at this point, SILK was up. SILK got up onto the apron and Carbine rushed him but SILK blocked a shot from Carbine, grabbed him by the head and took him over the top rope to the outside with a suplex! Carbine landed with a thud on the outside and Tokyo collectively gasped. “What a match! SILK is back from the dead!” Mears shouted. SILK held onto the top rope and was still on the apron. Cartier and SILK locked eyes and SILK held out his hand. With a knowing smirk, Cartier tagged her partner in, while holding onto Cherry’s wrist. Thot Chocolate then hit Cherry with Sweet Tooth (SILK gets the opponent up in a wheelbarrow lift and Cartier jumps off the top rope and connects with a Codebreaker as SILK leans forward to drive the opponent into the Codebreaker with as much force as possible) and SILK covered for the three count and the victory. Winners: Thot Chocolate “Cream” cued up and the referee raised both members of Thot Chocolate’s hands. Both looked exhausted and SILK, his face a bloody mess, looked particularly fucked. Cartier and SILK embraced in the center of the ring as we got consecutive shots of Cherry down and out in the ring and Carbine laid out ringside.

— Tag Team Championship Enigma Protocol vs. The Inevitable © Our second championship match was up next as Miguel Villalobos and TERROR, Enigma Protocol looked to dethrone the inaugural OATH Tag Team Champions, Leah and Stephanie Matsuda, The Inevitable. Miguel Villalobos started the contest against Leah. The feral member of Protocol was seething, moving around the ring like a wild beast. Leah begged for him to bring it on and he did, blasting her with a sudden big boot. Villalobos pounded on Leah for some time while Matsuda tried to motivate her partner from the corner. Villalobos flashed her a grown and then got Leah up and tried for Santa Muerte (Cradle Piledriver) but Leah spun out of it and took Villalobos down with springboard moonsault. “Perhaps next to the Ultimate Endurance Match at Brutalism, this might be the toughest challenge that The Inevitable has faced yet.” Matt Mears said. “This might be tougher. Enigma Protocol are fucking monsters Matthew, they won’t leave Tokyo without the Tag Titles.” Ben Petrie replied. Leah tagged in Matsuda and Tokyo popped big for the tandem. Inevitable called out to Tokyo and then together they hit Double Yahtzee! (Stereo Superkicks) on Villalobos. Matsuda covered but Villalobos kicked out at two which got a collective sigh from the audience. Leah went back to her corner and then Matsuda tried for Last Surprise (Sling Blade) but Villalobos evaded it and hit Ay Dios Mio (Chokebomb). Matsuda’s back bounced off the mat from the massive impact and TERROR called for a tag. Villalobos didn’t seem willing at first. Villalobos reluctantly tagged in TERROR. TERROR slapped Villalobos in the face, in an effort to motivate him and it seemingly worked. Enigma Protocol colelcted Matsuda and then put her down with Schrödinger’s Cat (Dudley Death Drop). “New champions! New champions!” Petrie exclaimed. TERROR covered but to everyone in the arena’s surprise, Matsuda kicked out. Matsuda tried to fight up but TERROR hit her with a combination of heavy strikes that pinned her against the ropes. TERROR smirked and then wrapped Matsuda up in the ropes. Before the referee could process what was happening, TERROR hit Matsuda with a half dozen brutal knee strikes to the face. The referee finally got involved and help free her Matsuda. This momentary distraction gave Villalobos time to pull Leah off of the apron and hit her with a Santa Muerte (Cradle Piledriver) on the ring steps. The sound was sickening and Leah looked to be taken out of the contest, at least for the time being. Villalobos took his place back in his corner and TERROR tagged him in. Together, TERROR and Villalobos tried for Paradox Solution (Cop Killa/Ghetto Stomp) but Leah, running on pure adrenaline, got up on the apron, and shoved Villalobos off the top rope. Villalobos landed hard on the outside with a thud but was right back up, completely no selling the obvious agony. Matsuda wasn’t having that shit, she ran and hit a suicide dive to the outside on Villalobos. Leah cracked TERROR with a big boot and then followed it up with Drop The Bomb (Dead Eye). “TERROR has been taken out! This is The Inevitable’s time!” Mears shouted. Leah exited and helped Matsuda slide Villalobos back into the ring. Matsuda climbed to the top rope and went for Cloud 9 (Corkscrew Shooting Star Press) but Villalobos moved at the last second. Matsuda ate canvas but she was close enough to her corner that Leah could make a blind tag. Out of pure instinct, Villalobos got Matsuda up for La Mordida del lobo (One-handed Electric Chair Driver), but Leah was the legal competitor and she cracked Villalobos in the face with a big boot. Matsuda lurched forward and pinned Villalobos with a victory roll for the three count. Winners: Still OATH Tag Team Champions, The Inevitable Leah and Matsuda were handed their titles and they celebrated another successful defense. The audience in Tokyo cheered loudly for the champions and we cut.
— Mulligan The scene showed a backstage hallway and the shot entered the trainer’s room. The sounds of several people could be heard and upon entering the room we saw Alex Pierce. “The Fire Fist Ace” was receiving medical attention for his busted up face, courtesy of his match earlier in the evening. Pierce looked less than pleased and that angry expression turned to absolute fury when someone else entered the room and caught his attention. “Oh so now you want to go again?” Pierce said, looking to stand and fight. The shot pulled out to show Tabula Rasa Champion, Nina Stokes. Stokes’ demeanour was as usual, stoic and unflinching. “Not right now, no. But we will do it again in the future.” Stokes said, looking over and the title on her shoulder. “I just wanted to let you know in person. Heal yourself and I would be happy to give you another opportunity to fail.” Pierce shoved the trainer away and stood up. “I’m ready right now.” Pierce said. “No. No you aren’t.” Stokes said. “And regardless, I have other things to attend to tonight. You just get sewn up and we can see each other again…real soon.” Stokes then slowly backed out of the room, her words hanging in the air.
— Intrepid Championship: James Edwards vs. Locke Helms © This one started out with a feeling out process. “The Burning Heart” James Edwards kept trying to test the waters with the OATH Intrepid Champion, “The Chairman of Chaos” Locke Helms. Edwards kept feigning as if he was gonna shoot in on Helms but kept pulling back at the last second. Edwards did this several times, toying with Helms. Helms did not take kindly to this. Helms shot in on Edwards and lifted him up by both legs. Helms drove Edwards into the corner and then tried for an uppercut but Edwards blocked it and spun behind Helms. Edwards tried for his Half Cut (Half-Nelson Suplex) but Helms slipped out of it. Helms hit a headbutt right to the base of Edward’s skull and then smashed Edwards’ face off of the top turnbuckle. “These two may be the two most methodical fighters in OATH right now, Ben.” Matt Mears said. Helms tried to take Edwards over with an arm wrench but Edwards didn’t let it happen. Helms maintained wrist control and tried to pull Edwards into a falling arm breaker but Edwards evaded that too. Edwards then put some distance between himself and the champion by smashing Helms in the mush with the Double Tap (A pair of spinning back fists). Helms was staggered and Edwards saw his opportunity. “We saw Helms looking to do some damage to James Edwards’ arms there. Likely to set up for the Witching Hour submission which has led him to a perfect record so far in OATH.” Mears said. “If Helms locks that move in, it’s over for Edwards. No one has been able to survive that hold yet. It’s fucking brutal.” Ben Petrie added. Edwards collected Helms and looked for his Foxfire (Fisherman Brainbuster) but while up in the air Helms hit a knee to the top of Edwards’ head. Helms landed on Edwards’ right and then applied a flying armbar. Edwards was close enough to the ropes to reach them within seconds but Helms ripped and tore at Edwards for the duration of the five count. Helms got to his feet and dropped a well placed stomp on Edwards’ shoulder and “The Burning Heart” was in trouble. Edwards tried to recover but Helms caught his arm and yanked Edwards down to the mat. Helms held onto Edwards’ arm, stepped over and applied a standing reverse arm bar. Edwards was able to fight up, hit several punches to Helms’ kidneys and hit Helms with RRE (Reverse Release Exploder Suplex). Edwards covered but only got a two count. The champion quickly got up to his feet and looked to recover in the corner but when Edwards rushed toward him, Helms was forced to shoot for the arm again. Edwards evaded the attempt and then he cracked Helms with Fire From Heaven (Discuss Roundhouse Kick). Helms dropped and Edwards covered again and again he was only able to get a two count. The timekeeper announced that only ten minutes remained. “Edwards could be closing in on his first championship here in OATH!” Mears said. “He’ll have to do it within the time limit. Ten minutes can pass like fucking nothing.” Petrie said. “The Burning Heart” measured the champion and went for Double Take (Jumping Switch Kick) but Helms ducked under it and out of desperation he hit Edwards with Diamond Rain (Standing Moonsault Slam/C4). Helms then transitioned into an arm bar and Edwards was trapped in the center of the ring. Edwards had no choice but to try and wiggle his way to the ropes but it was a slow process and Helms was tearing at his arm with everything he had. With Edwards still locked in the hold, the referee announced that only five minutes remained. Edwards fought as hard as he could for what probably seemed like an eternity but finally got to the bottom rope but again Helms kept the hold locked in as long as he could. The timekeeper then announced three minutes remained. “Edwards needs to make a big play because if we reach the time limit, Helms retains the championship!” Petrie said. Helms tried to level Edwards with a clothesline but Edwards slipped behind him and hit a hard forearm to Helms’ kidney. Edwards tried for Violent Genesis (Ripcord Spinning Back Fist) but Helms ducked under it. The timekeeper announced that we were in the final minute as Helms nailed the Witching Hour (Locke hits Full nelson legsweep facebuster but he keeps the full nelson locked in as he flips himself over his opponent’s body and transitions the move into a bridging arm triangle choke). “Less than a minute remains! Can Helms get the submission?” Petrie questioned. Edwards was stuck in the middle of the ring with Helms ripping and tearing at his arms. The referee was in close and in the final thirty seconds Edwards had no choice but to submit. Helms held onto the hold for a few more seconds, perhaps to insult “The Burning Heart”. Winner: Still OATH Intrepid Champion, Locke Helms
— May The Best… Following the conclusion of the Intrepid Championship contest, we found ourselves In the backstage area and the shot fell upon a pair black combat boots. The shot widened to show that they belonged to “The Most Dangerous” Erik Holland. Holland stood taping his wrists and the deliberate care that he took with the task was accompanied by a look of intense focus in his eyes. This being moments before his Number One Contendership Match with “The Titaness” Samantha Hamilton, Holland’s state of mind made sense. Just as Holland was wrapping up…his…wrapping up…his opponent walked into frame. Hamilton’s expression mirrored that of her opponent’s and there was a sense of tension in the air. Neither competitor said anything for a few moments until they exchanged nods and the scene cut. The respect was evident, but their upcoming match was about much more than respect. It was about a shot at gooooooold.
— World Title: #1 Contendership Erik Holland vs. Samantha Hamilton This next contest had some high stakes and the fans in Tokyo weren’t exactly sure who to support. The crowd was split pretty evenly as both “The Most Dangerous” Erik Holland and “The Titaness” Samantha Hamilton made their respective entrances. “I have been looking forward to this one all week Benjamin. It’s my belief that these two are about to go to war.” Matt Mears said. “It would be great if they both fucking died.” Ben Petrie said. Mears…did not respond to that one. Back in the ring the bell rang and these two “friends” immediately started beating the absolute piss out of each other. There was no bullshit, they just went right at it off the hop. Neither got the clear upper hand but along with that never relented. It wasn’t until the more experienced Holland evaded a strike from Hamilton and he blasted her with Plan 9 from Outer Space (Superman Punch) to break up her offence. Holland knew that he’d have to stay on Hamilton or risk a quick turnaround from her so he beat her into a corner and then took a step backward before leaping forward with a short arm clothesline. With Hamilton rocked, Holland pulled her out of the corner and set her up for a big move. “The Titaness” was seemingly out of it when Holland hit her with a toe kick to the mid-section. He set her up for what appeared to be Chopping Mall (Snap Powerbomb) but Hamilton came back to life and reversed it mid-move. Hamilton threw herself backward and sent Holland through the ropes to the outside with Defying The Gods (Frankensteiner). “Hamilton could probably use a few minutes to recover here.” Mears said. “Yeah but she’d be an idiot if she any time to recover. She needs to keep on the goddamn pressure if she wants another shot at the World Title.” Petrie countered. It seemed that Hamilton was heeding Petrie’s advice because she shot to the other side of the ring, hit the ropes and then charged back across toward Holland. Hamilton went for an uncharacteristic dive and that proved to be a poor choice because Holland cracked her in the jaw just as she came through the ropes with another Plan 9 from Outer Space (Superman Punch). “The Most Dangerous” saw his opportunity with Hamilton hanging over the middle rope, her upper body outside the ring. Holland got up on the apron and tried again for Chopping Mall (Snap Powerbomb) on the apron but Hamilton was able to fight out of it and she shoved Holland into the ring post. The back of Holland’s head hit the steel and rocked him temporarily. This gave Hamilton the opportunity to hit him with Reversal of Fate (Vertebreaker) on the apron. “Holy fuck that was disgusting!” Petrie exclaimed. The audience seemed to feel the same way as there was a collective gasp when the back of Holland’s head hit the apron. Hamilton knew that this was her chance so she hauled Holland back up onto the apron and shoved him into the ring. Hamilton dove into a cover. 1.. 2.. ..! Holland was able to kick out and there seemed to be a sense of moderate shock. That was a fucked up bump but Holland is a tank. Knowing this, Hamilton tried to get him up for her certified match ender, Wrath Of The Titans (Pedigree) but Holland came back to life and took her over with a back body drop. Hamilton landed with a thud but took no time to recover, she got right back up. “Here they go again!” Mears said. Much like the beginning of the match the two started beating the piss out of each other again. Neither trying to block or evade the other’s strikes, they would just absorb them and fire back with one of their own. Hamilton got the better of the situation with this one when she cracked Holland in the face with a forearm smash. Hamilton hit the ropes and went to come back with a lariat of some sort but Holland planted her with Planet Terror (Black Hole Slam). Holland quickly covered with a snarl. 1.. 2.. ..! “The Titaness” kicked out and this got a big pop from Tokyo. Bigger than the response that Holland got when he kicked out moments ago. Hamilton was still on her back when Holland took his massive hand and applied the Screaming Skull (Iron Claw Hold). Hamilton let out in pain and fought up to her feet but Holland had a firm grasp. With a surge of energy and agility Hamilton took chopped at Holland’s elbow joint, stepped forward and hit him with a knee to the mid-section. Holland got the wind knocked out of him and Hamilton quickly applied Exiled To Tartarus (Sleeper Hold). Holland tried to fight for the ropes but Hamilton used all her might to keep him in the middle of the ring. “If Samantha Hamilton can put Erik Holland to sleep to win this contest that would be a massive victory for her. The former Intrepid Champion is looking to make a statement here!” Mears said. “Well…yeah.” Petrie added. Just when it appeared that Holland was gonna go to sleep, he came back to life with a fire in his eyes that we only see in situations like this. Holland turned his body slightly and delivered a series of sharp elbows to Hamilton’s mid-section, breaking the hold. In his dazed state, Holland stepped forward and climbed to the top rope, with his back to Hamilton. Hamilton darted toward him and hit him with a forearm smash to the kidneys. Hamilton then used all of her might to get Holland up on her shoulders. Holland tried to fight it but the sleeper hold had taken its toll and Holland got dropped with Zeus’ Wrath (One Winged Angel). Hamilton covered and Tokyo counted along with the referee. 1.. 2.. ..! Holland kicked out and Hamilton could not believe it. She could feel that she had him on the ropes so she got him up and sat him back on the top rope. Hamilton climbed up with him and positioned Holland for for a top rope Defying The Gods (Frankensteiner) but Holland grabbed the back of her head and treated her to a vile series of headbutts to the face. Hamilton looked to be knocked out when Holland collected her in a fireman’s carry and then came off the top rope with The Toxic Avenger (Death Valley Driver). Holland covered and secured the victory. Winner: Number One Contender to the World Title, Erik Holland Both competitors lay on the mat and Tokyo was on their feet giving them both a standing ovation. Hamilton was bleeding from the nose and she appeared to be out cold. Holland was definitely beaten up but he slowly got to his feet. “What a match from both of these warriors but only one could win and that winner is Erik Holland. He will challenge the winner of our main event at Violent Ends on November 24th in Calgary, Alberta.” Mears said. Holland stood and called for the EMTs to come to the ring. When they entered, Holland stepped aside and then left the ring, giving the professionals room to attend to his friend. “The Most Dangerous” did not celebrate, he walked solemnly to the back.
— “Chair”man There was a room backstage shown where various members of staff and crew were shown. There was a large table of food and beverages set beside a large monitor, showing the feed from the arena. Everyone was conversing pleasantly until a door was heard slamming off screen. Everyone’s attention was drawn to the source and that source revealed itself to be Intrepid Champion, Locke Helms. Helms calmly collected a chair and sat it right in front of the monitor. Helms took a seat and held the Intrepid Championship in his lap. The air seemed to leave the room as everyone else quietly took their seat and prepared to watch the main event.
— World Championship Jake Archer vs. Declan Black © The main event was up next and Jake Archer got a hero’s welcome when his music hit. “The Man In High Demand” marched down the ramp, slapping the hands of fans that lined either side of the ramp and once in the ring he led them in a chant of “THE BEST! THE BEST! THE BEST!”. All of the positivity and merry energy that was in the arena quickly disappeared when the OATH World Champion, “The Pride of Nova Scotia” Declan Black made his entrance. Black didn’t seem to care, he walked with a swagger to the ring that only a man like him possesses. Once in the ring Black walked right up to Archer and pushed the title into his face, forcing the referee to intervene. “Black with the mind games already.” Matt Mears said. “You can’t play mind games with an idiot.” Ben Petrie said. The bell barely had time to sound when Black jumped Archer and sent him face first into the top turnbuckle. Black then hit Archer with a series of quick strikes to the back of the head before the referee had to interfere again. Black backed off with his hands up as if to say that he wasn’t guilty of what just transpired. As soon as the referee moved Black shot in again but this time Archer was ready and he cracked Black with The Touch! (Sweet Chin Music set up into a Spinning Backfist). Black crumbled into a heap and Archer covered, looking for the quick victory. 1.. ..2! Black kicked out but judging by the reaction from the fans in Tokyo, many thought that we almost had a new champion. Archer got Black up to his feet and then grabbed Black by the chin. Archer wagged a scolding finger in Black’s face and then delivered a defiant slap that got a massive reaction from Tokyo. “Archer is flirting with disaster here. Black is going to fucking kill him.” Petrie said. “The Pride of Nova Scotia” looked furious as he charged at Archer but Archer sidestepped him and sent him hard into the corner. Archer kept Black subdued in the corner with a spinning back kick to the mid-section. Archer then ran across the ring and pivoted and then went charging back toward Black where he hit him with Just Do It! (Handspring Enzuigiri)! Everyone in the arena was on their feet when Black staggered out of the corner right into Surprise! (Frontflip Cutter rolled back into a Dragon Sleeper)! Archer had Black down in the center of the ring. The only problem being that Archer didn’t have it quite locked in. Archer scrambled to secure the hold but Black, being the more technically proficient, was able to reverse it into Painkiller 2.0 (Severn-style Inside Armbar)! Tokyo collectively sighed as the champion ripped at Archer’s arm. “The Man In High Demand” scrambled to make it to the ropes. Black kept the hold locked in for the duration of the four count. “This is bad for Jake Archer. Black ripped at that arm with everything that he had and Archer looks hurt.” Mears said. “That’s what he gets for acting like an asshole.” Petrie added. Mears’ diagnosis seemed to be right on the money because Archer pulled himself up using the ropes, his right arm dangling at his side. Black charged at him and Archer went to low bridge the top rope but Black stopped short and then nailed Archer in the side of the head with a knee trembler. Archer spilled out onto the apron. Black reached over the top rope and tried to grab Archer but Archer hit a high kick to his head. Archer then climbed to the top rope but Black hit the ropes and Archer was crotched on the top rope. Black got on the middle rope and brought Archer off the top with a flying cutter! Instead of covering, Black quickly transitioned into 25:18 (Border City Stretch/Gargano Escape), targeting Archer’s injured right arm! Archer tried to fight out of it but the champion had him right in the center of the ring! Black pulled back with all his might but this was his undoing as Archer used that momentum to counter the move into a pin. 1.. 2.. ..! Black kicked out at the last possible second and both men were back up but Black was quicker and he blasted Archer with Call of the Coal (Claymore Kick). The audience gasped but Archer spilled through the ropes and landed with a thud on the outside. Black was beside himself because that surely would have been it if Archer hadn’t fallen through the ropes. The champion exited the ring to collect Archer and when he did Archer dropped and hit Black with a drop toe hold that sent Black face first into the ring post. Archer slid Black into the ring but Archer himself was pretty fucked up, it took him a second to get up onto the apron. When he did Black was there to meet him and Archer went for another high kick but Black pulled the referee into harms way. “Jake Archer! The coward! He just hit the referee because he knew he was going to lose!” Petrie exclaimed. “Hardly the case! That was Black’s fault!” Mears countered. Archer grabbed Black and dropped off the apron, guillotining Black over the top rope. Archer then climbed up to the top rope but a figure came charging down the ramp. It was Nina Stokes and she was armed with a steel chair! Stokes jumped up onto the apron and smashed Archer with the chair, right in the head. “Oh come on! The referee is down and Stokes just blasted Jake Archer!” Mears said. “Payback is a bitch!” Petrie added. Black gathered Archer up and with a smirk he set Archer up and blasted him with Blackout (Rainmaker Lariat). Archer landed right on his neck and Black covered him. The referee conveniently came back to the land of the living just in time to count the fall and the victory for Black. Winner: Still OATH World Champion, Declan Black “The Pride of Nova Scotia” was handed the World Championship and he held it high in the air. Tokyo was silent but Black stood tall like he was receiving a chorus of cheers. But he felt someone’s eyes on him. Stokes was up on the apron and she was staring at him. The two champions stared each other down as our last show on the Japanese Tour came to a close.
