Episode XIV December 9th, 2019 Guadalajara, Mexico
— Jain Kekoa vs. Leah Former Tag Team Champion Leah came to the ring with something to prove in her first singles match in weeks. Kekoa’s signature positive energy and high flying antics were not enough to overcome “The War Queen”. After several minutes of back and forth action, Leah put Kekoa down with Drop The Bomb (Dead Eye) for the pinfall and the victory. Winner: Leah
— Keegan Ryan vs. Kozustami Jiro This one was..weird. Jiro came to the ring and seemed more interested in taking swigs from his pocket flask than he did in competing. Ryan caught him with a roll up that Jiro barely tried to fight out of and got the win. Winner: Keegan Ryan
— Brie Marie vs. Legion “Darling” Brie Marie a.k.a. Dashie came to the ring to a massive ovation, Dashiemania was running wild. Legion was no match for the jacked up Dashie. After a goddamn onslaught of big kicks, Dashie took Legion down with the Shining Dash Attack (Shining Wizard) and then put Legion away after Total Recall (Front flip double knee backbreaker). Winner: Brie Marie
— Badd Breed vs. The Gomi Boys The final match of the Kickoff Show saw the tag team debut of Erik Holland and Samantha Hamilton as Badd Breed. Unfortunately, the perpetually dirty tandem of Hiro and Kazu Gomi drew the short straw. The match began with Holland just beating the shit out of Hiro with lariats and all kinds of brawling. Badd Breed utilized frequent tags to batter Hiro and following Fate Cries Foul (Holland lifts the opponent into an electric chair and Sam hits a top rope bulldog off their shoulders) Hamilton pinned Hiro for the victory. Winners: Badd Breed
Following brand new Conviction opening titles, we cut to the arena in Guadalajara where the voices of OATH, Matt Mears and Ben Petrie welcomed us to the final episode of Conviction for 2019. The two hyped up the evenings main event as the undefeated Intrepid Champion, Locke Helms would take on Nina Stokes in a non-title contest. The two then stopped their opening verbal salvo as they were notified that something was happening backstage.
Somewhere backstage a door to the outside world opened and in walked the now former Tabula Rasa Champion, Nina Stokes. Stokes was dressed in a thin black NorthFace jacket, black leggings, as well as black and pink Nike Joyride shoes. Stokes was moving a little more gingerly than usual, given the brutal contest that she went through against Aura Everton the week previous. Stokes stopped and took a moment, she tested the weight of her luggage and was clearly a little lighter than she had been used to. Stokes sighed and carried on. As Stokes made her way through the hallway she was approached by an OATH staff member and a young female fan. STAFF: Ms. Stokes, this young fan won an online contest to win a backstage pass to tonight’s show. When we asked her which OATH wrestler she would most like to meet, she selected you. Stokes looked at the child with mild disbelief. STOKES: Why? The child was shy and trepidatious about responding. The staff member placed a hand on the child’s shoulder, encouraging her. CHILD: Well…I… A pause. CHILD: You’re my favourite. Even if you lose, you always come back stronger and tougher. I want to be strong. I want to be tough. Stokes showed know emotion save for the slightest…and I mean slightest smile. Stokes took the child’s autograph book and signed it. The child was elated but the moment ended there, Stokes handed the book back and kept on down the hall. The weight of her luggage was the furthest thing from her mind.
Singles Match Rio Ojima vs. Zac Geary Talk about an absolute banger. These two were both coming off victories from the week previous and following some back and forth on social media, fans were hyped to see what the newcomers would bring to Guadalajara. The match began with Ojima toying with Geary. Ojima clearly didn’t think that “Ursa Major” was on his level and Geary didn’t take kindly to that. Every time that Geary tried some offence, Ojima would put him on the mat with a basic wrestling toss. Ojima seemed very pleased with himself until Geary fired back with a high impact running leg sweep to front of Ojima’s knees. Geary knew that he had to make some money moves here so he battered Ojima until he was able to set “The Stone Gargoyle” up for three consecutive rolling Northern Lights suplexes. Geary bridged into a pin on the third and nearly got the victory. Ojima was done playing around now and when Geary set him up for a lifting single arm ddt, Ojima swung out of it and levelled Geary with a lariat. Following an angry stomp to the back of Geary’s head, Ojima lifted the young talent off the mat with a deadlift German suplex. Instead of pinning, Ojima opted to inflict more damage. PETRIE: Ojima wants to put Geary in his place. The Stone Gargoyle has been around the block, no punk bear cub is gonna make him look bad. MEARS: It may be in Ojima’s best interest to end this when he can. Stamina may not be his strength in a match against a much younger opponent. Not satisfied with the pain he was inflicted, Ojima decided to go for another deadlift German suplex. Ojima hoisted Geary off the mat but as Ojima took Geary over, Geary back flipped and landed on his feet. Not realizing this, Ojima left himself open to walk right into a leaping downward lariat that drove the back of Ojima’s head and shoulders into the mat. Geary covered for a two count. Sensing that this was his opportunity to win, Geary took hold of Ojima and hit him with the single arm ddt, wrenching Ojima’s shoulders. Geary then looked to apply Grind Your Gears (Arm-trap Crossface) but Ojima rolled out of it and both were back up. The impulsive Geary rushed Ojima and ran right into Ojima’s Last Call (Running Powerslam). Ojima covered and got the victory. Winner: Rio Ojima Following the match Ojima stared at Geary, who was still down on the mat. Ojima’s expression did not really give anything away but he was fixated on the youngster. PETRIE: Easy win! MEARS: Far from it! We need to see this match again because that could have gone either way in my opinion. PETRIE: But it didn’t! Ojima left the ring but then turned back to see that Geary was standing. Geary stared down his opponent and it was clear that he was showing Ojima that there fight was not over…
The camera shifted to a video package, where we saw Erik Holland and Samantha “The Titaness” Hamilton standing beside one another. Upon closer inspection, it was noted neither of The Badd Breed members were no longer inside the venue for tonight’s episode of Conviction. The sights and sounds of Guadalajara, Mexico surrounded them as Lyric was ever present at Holland’s side. They also both had very fed up and exasperated looks on their faces as they glared furiously into the camera.
The duo of Holland and Hamilton turned and looked briefly at one another before looking at the camera.
A soft chuckle was the first thing that Samantha let out as she raised her hand, ran it through her blonde locks, and began to speak.
HAMILTON: Hello there, Declan Black. So as much as I would love to say I didn’t expect to be used as a makeshift hostage when you fought Erik, some part of me is still scolding myself. I probably should have seen it coming. But … really.
Her head shook, disgust entering her voice as she continued.
HAMILTON: You couldn’t do it, huh? No. You couldn’t fight Erik Holland fairly.
Her eyebrows furrowed as she clenches her fists.
HAMILTON: Clearly, you don’t give a fuck about honor or anything of the like! Me and Erik put each other through Hell to determine the number one contender to the OATH World Championship! I fought like there was no tomorrow for me, and with how it ended?! One could have assumed that was exactly what happened. All for a chance to fight you. And you repay Holland – who busted his ass – by using me to make his attention go elsewhere, and also to sneak some low blows in?!
An irritated scoff mingled in with a growl as The Titaness continued.
HAMILTON: As someone who has been a champion in OATH, you absolutely disgust me! You’re no champion! Hell, you’re barely a man! Just a coward that needs to be badly dethroned! I already had full intentions of working my ass off and seeing for another contendership shot at the future, regardless of whom that may be facing. But now?! Now … you’ve given me a very personal reason to make that wish become a reality. I may not be The Most Dangerous like Erik here is, but I am pretty fucking lethal in my own rights. Whenever we do meet…
Her head moved from side to side.
HAMILTON: I’m going to make you regret everything about that bullshit stunt you pulled. Until that day arrives, though, we got something else to say to you.
This is the time when Erik Holland stepped into the shot, Lyric wrapped around his right arm. He glowered at the camera.
HOLLAND: You’re running out of time, Declan. Running out of places to hide from us. I told you when you started this and you DID start this when you sent your goons after the Titaness…That anything you do to the Badd Breed will be remembered, will be notarized, and will be paid back fifty fold. If you want to get these two goons involved in our fuckin’ fight, then let me propose something to you. Six person tag team match at the next Conviction. You, your ass-wiper Warburton and your boot-licker O’Brien against me, The Titaness Sam Hamilton and a partner of our choosing. And they won’t be hard to find–There’s a lot of people in the OATH locker room that cannot wait to see what the Badd Breed are gonna do to you. Let me say though, when they do see it? When they finally experience what happens when you cross the Badd Breed? Well.. Erik gave a very sick look to the camera. HOLLAND: It’s something that will burn into the back of their mind and never, ever, ever leave. See you next week.
Singles Match Adrestia Nyx vs. Ben Macbeth
This match never really got started. Nyx was accompanied to the ring by her cohorts in Enigma Protocol, Miguel Villalobos and TERROR while Macbeth had his EMBLEM partners Josh Cherry and Harvey Carbine in his corner. The corner people on both sides refused to leave the ring and an all out brawl ensued.
The referee was knocked down in the mayhem and when EMBLEM got the upperhand, they sent Enigma Protocol to the outside to regroup. That was when TERROR gestured to the stage and the lights went out…
There was a few moments of confusion until the lights returned and standing in the ring, behind the three members of EMBLEM was a giant of a man, wearing black coveralls and a menacing black mask. The three members of Enigma Protocol got up on the ring and TERROR produced a microphone. EMBLEM were completely unaware of the threat behind them. TERROR: Gentlemen, this all started because we borrowed your friend Combo XL. You see, he was not being used to his full potential. He needed…a reeducation. Well I am pleased to say that he has graduated. He has transformed. He is Monstruo. Macbeth was the first to turn his head but he was blasted with a lariat from Monstruo that turned Macbeth inside out. Both members of Midnight Special tried to stop the behemoth but Monstruo grabbed both by the throat and planted them with stereo choke slams. Enigma Protocol entered the ring and stood over the trio, with Monstruo standing behind them. Now four strong, this group stood tall as a dominant force.
Singles Match Stephanie Matsuda vs. Wendy Wynne
The next contest saw former OATH Tag Team Champion, Stephanie Matsuda take on Skeleton Key holder Wendy Wynne. Wynne came to the ring flaunting the key, which represents her ability to challenge for any OATH title, at any time of her choosing.
Matsuda had no time for that shit. The match began and Matsuda immediately took Wynne over with a standing head scissors takedown. Matsuda then went to hit Wynne with Yahtzee! (Superkick) but Wynne bailed out of the ring.
MEARS: Stephanie Matsuda has largely been a tag team competitor since coming to OATH but perhaps this match could jump start her singles career.
PETRIE: Wynne has never lost. Matsuda is without her partner, she isn’t likely to be the first one to put Wynne down.
Wynne seemed to be blowing off the match, looking to walk up the ramp but Matsuda put a stop to that shit with a suicide dive to the outside, taking her down. Matsuda then slid Wynne back into the ring but Wynne dropped a double stomp onto the back of Matsuda’s head on re-entry.
“The Wicked Witch” kept Matsuda subdued with some rolling German suplexes and then went for a pin but Matsuda kicked out. Looking like a spurned child, Wynne beat her fists on the mat and then put Matsuda down again with a high standing dropkick.
Wanting to be done with this match, Wynne set Matsuda up for The Devil Made Me Do it (Tombstone Piledriver) but Matsuda kicked her feet, slipped over Wynne’s shoulders and then put Wynne on the mat with Blasian Suplex (Sleeper Suplex). Matsuda covered and got the three count.
Winner: Stephanie Matsuda
Following a commercial break, the tron lit up and was led by rapturous laughter, unmistakable in regards to who it belonged to. There was the World’s Champion, nattily attired in an expensive turquoise suit, title belt casually tossed over his shoulder. BLACK: Badd Breed…you people are going to find a partner? What, are you gonna go teach one of these losers in the crowd the Badd Breed secret handshake and hope for the best? Gonna get some job boy from the back that Jack, Derrick and I are gonna steamroll? Black struggleed to catch his breath as his laughing was that hard. BLACK: Look, we’ll show up and fight whoever shows up against us. But the only thing you really need to know is about how Clan Black will be spending our holidays. We will be holding a private, Very Black Christmas special. It’s special because none of you morons will get to see it! We’re going to celebrate Christmas the way God intended-with liquor, family, and no goddamned Jose Feliciano! The crowd booed the exclusion of the Mexican icon that brought “Feliz Navidad” to your speakers two billion times a holiday season. BLACK: So the champion said as he faded from sight: failure and poverty to all, and to me a great night!
Singles Match Alex Pierce w/ Brie Marie vs. Josie Wales
Up next “The Fire Fist Ace” Alex Pierce was accompanied to the ring by his new pal Brie Marie as he looked to avenge a previous loss against “The Outlaw” Josie Wales. Pierce had a look of intense focus as Wales scoffed in his general direction before the bell. Wales waived at Marie and Marie just stuck her tongue out in response. After the initial lock up, Wales shoved Pierce into the ropes and then caught him with a short arm clothesline. Wales kept Pierce on the mat with some stiff kicks, then got wrist control and went for Sundance Neckbreaker (Overdrive) but Pierce stood and brought her up (and then down) with a big sit out powerbomb. MEARS: What a reversal from Alex Pierce!
PETRIE: He’ll fuck it up. This kid has been here for months and hasn’t done a goddamn thing of note.
MEARS: Perhaps all he needs is an opportunity.
PETRIE: And some talent.
With “The Outlaw” in a daze, Pierce was able to hit her with Glimmering Warlock (Feint shining wizard transitioned into a reverse roundhouse) and went for a cover but Wales rolled out onto the apron. Pierce looked to grab her over the ropes but Wales poked him in the eyes, which went undetected by the referee.
Wales stepped back into the ring but pushed off the bottom rope and flattened Pierce with a bicycle kick. “The Fire Fist Ace” was rocked and Wales covered as Marie looked concerned outside the ring. Pierce was able to kick out and Wales looked infuriated. “The Outlaw” looked at Marie and mouthed the words “You did this.” as she set Pierce up for Rio Lobo Driver (Quackendriver 3) but at the very last second Pierce was able to slip out and roll Wales up for the quick pinfall victory! Winner: Alex Pierce Dashie entered the ring, overtaken by joy. She charged and embraced Pierce. It lasted only a moment before both competitors composed themselves. Wales slipped out of the ring and tossed the time keeper’s table in frustration.
Back from commercial we see Alex Pierce and Brie Marie walking back through the curtain, still celebrating Pierce’s victory. However, the merriment ceased when something out of frame caught their attention. The shot pulled out to show Tabula Rasa Champion, Aura Everton standing before them. For those who may have forgotten, at Violent Ends Everton nearly crushed Pierce’s skull with a top rope stomp. Everton had since apologized for such a drastic action and Pierce accepted it. EVERTON: An impressive victory. Josie Wales is no slouch. PIERCE: That she is not. And neither am I. You may have beaten me at Violent Ends but I have grown. I told you that I’d be coming for you. EVERTON: That still true? PIERCE: It is. Especially now that you’re holding gold. I want a shot at the Tabula Rasa Championship. Everton smirked. EVERTON: I’ll be announcing my chosen stipulation later tonight. Perhaps you hear what that is before you make that challenge. A beat. EVERTON: You saw how far I will go under standard rules. You won’t like I will do when my stipulation is in play. Everton walked out of frame, leaving Pierce looking resolute but Marie wore a concerned expression.
OATH Tag Team Championship Tag Team Match The Dynasty vs. Thot Chocolate ©
Our only title match of the evening was up next as the new Tag Team Champions, the team of Cartier and SILK, Thot Chocolate defending against David and Patrick Slayton, The Dynasty. The Dynasty was ringside during Thot Chocolate’s title win and ended up getting involved. During their celebration last week, Thot Chocolate offered the brothers a championship match. Cartier and Patrick started the match, with Cartier talking all kinds of shit…as she is want to do. Cartier slapped Patrick across the face and sent him into the ropes but on his return Patrick turned her inside out with Devil’s Trident (Spear).
Patrick tagged in brother David and they wasted no time hitting Cartier with Shadow Kick (Stereo Dropkicks). David covered and Patrick neutralized SILK in the opposing corner with a running forearm smash. Cartier kicked out at two but that double team clearly rocked her. PETRIE: Looks like acting like a conceited asshole wasn’t a great move for Cartier. MEARS: The Dynasty have certainly come to win here tonight. PETRIE: Seems like Cartier has come to lose.
David brought Cartier back over to the Dynasty corner and tagged his brother back in. Sensing that she was in deep trouble, Cartier caught Patrick with an uppercut and then David with a headbutt to the chest. She went to dash across the ring to her corner but Patrick had hold of her arm and he pulled her into Final Vindication (Total Elimination). Patrick covered.

..! Knowing that the titles were in jeopardy SILK dashed across the ring and broke up the pin. This drew the ire of the opposing team and they hit him with a double clothesline that sent him over the top rope to the outside.
PETRIE: The Dynasty are destroying Thot Chocolate. This is hilarious! The Dynasty took advantage of the two on one. They set Cartier up and looked to execute Chaos Theory. Patrick got Cartier up in the Burning Hammer position and David looked to add to it with a diving double foot stomp but Cartier flipped off of Patrick’s shoulders and pushed him into David as the latter came off the top rope. The brothers collided and Cartier had her opportunity. PETRIE: If she doesn’t make this tag…I will throw up with laughter. SILK was back up on the apron and Cartier was able to make the tag. SILK came into the ring like a house on fire. Patrick tried to recover and rush SILK but was caught with SILK’s B.J. [Break Jaws] (Stunner). David grabbed SILK but SILK caught his arm and took him clean over the top rope with Bareback (Olympic Slam). MEARS: SILK has turned the tide for his team! PETRIE: Cartier certainly wasn’t getting it done. SILK stalked Patrick and then planted him with the SILKy Smooth DDT (Destino). SILK then tagged in Cartier and she looked a little bewildered, SILK gestured for her to make a move so she entered the ring, measured Patrick and blasted him with Empire State of Mine (Kinshasa). Cartier covered and got the three count. Winners: Still OATH Tag Team Champions, Thot Chocolate
Cartier and SILK were handed the titles but Cartier looked dejected. SILK tried to comfort her but she brushed him off and exited the ring, leaving SILK alone with both championship belts.
Back from commercial and suddenly, all the lights go dim and countdown appeared on the screen. 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… 9… 10… After the ten-count, the lights came back up , and ‘The New World Aura’ Aura Everton was standing at the bottom of the stage, the OATH Pro Wrestling Tabula Rasa Championship draped over her shoulder, mic in her hand. EVERTON: Ten seconds. It can be a moment, it can be an eternity. For ten seconds the world can stand perfectly still, and in ten seconds, everything can change. Aura shifted her weight, looking straight into the camera. EVERTON: So here’s the deal. Anyone wanting to take this belt away from me is going to have to do it in a Soul Survivor Match. No pinfalls. No submissions. We throw down, with everything we got, until either you and I can’t answer a 10-count. Anyone who thinks they can match up with these hands, these elbows, these knees and these feet… step right up. I’ll put you down. A beat. EVERTON: Pierce…if you still want to do this then it’s under these terms. So if you want it, at the next Conviction you can come and try to redeem yourself. Aura raised the belt above her head with one hand. EVERTON: But take my advice… when you go down, STAY DOWN. With that, the OATH Tabula Rasa Champion walked back up the ramp.
The final main event for OATH in 2019 saw undefeated Intrepid Champion, Locke Helms take on former Tabula Rasa Champion, Nina Stokes. The two made their entrances and then there was an intense staredown.
The bell rang and they came to the middle of the ring. They circled each other before locking up. Helms tried to push Stokes toward a corner and after a couple of paces backward, Stokes held her ground and then started to force Helms across the ring. Helms put his foot down and pushed Stokes into a headlock. Stokes lifted him up for a back suplex but Helms blocked it and tried to pull stokes into Diamond Rain (Standing Moonsault Slam/C4) but Stokes blocked it with some elbows to the side of the head. Stokes applied a wrist lock and went to kick Helms in the face but he blocked it and put her on the mat with Shadows over Heck (Exploder suplex lifted and dropped into a modified scoop powerslam). Helms opted not to pin but instead he got Stokes up and walked her over to a corner. Helms lifted Stokes up and put her in the tree of woe. Helms hit Stokes with a superkick to the gut and then charged across the ring and ran back looking for a dropkick to the face but Stokes sat up. Helms tweaked his leg on the dropkick, keeping him on the mat. Stokes was sat on the top rope. In an uncharacteristic move, Stokes came off the top rope with a crooked moonsault but at the last second Helms got his foot up and caught Stokes right in the jaw. Stokes was out on her feet when Helms lifted her up for a back suplex and then dropped her lower back right across his knees. Wasting no time, Helms got Stokes back up and went for his patented, so far unbroken Witching Hour (Locke hits Full nelson legsweep facebuster but he keeps the full nelson locked in as he flips himself over his opponent’s body and transitions the move into a bridging arm triangle choke). Stokes was trapped in the middle of the ring and like so many people that have come before her, she seemed poised to submit. Some audience members reacted as if it was a foregone conclusion, waving their hands toward the ring in dismissal. It was at this point that we saw “The Burning Heart” James Edwards sitting at ringside. With the hold locked in, Edwards stood and looked as if he was going to jump the barricade and go after his rival Helms after the bell. When all seemed lost, Stokes foot caught the bottom rope and Helms was forced to break the hold. Helms looked momentarily shocked but knew that he had to stay on his opponent. That moment of hesitation allowed Stokes to caught him with A Slice of Grace (Throat Punch). Helms crumbled and Stokes hit the ropes, coming back with Amidst the Shadow of Sorrows III (Boma Ye Knee Strike). Stokes covered and got the three count, ending Helms’ undefeated streak.
Winner: Nina Stokes The audience exploded. Helms had finally suffered a defeat and it was at the hands of Stokes. Stokes got her hand raised and Edwards was shown in the audience. Edwards smirked and left his seat, heading out through the crowd. After the hoopla died down, Stokes requested a microphone. She took a moment to catch her breath and then simply said, STOKES: …Badd Breed. I’m your partner.
Stokes then let the microphone fall from her hand and Conviction came to an end.
