Episode XV January 6th, 2020 Mexico City, Mexico

Singles Match Kozutsami Jiro vs. Vitor Mata Perpetual loser and notorious drunk Jiro was no match for the newcomer from Portugal. The fans in Mexico City weren’t sure which foreigner they hated more but they came alive when Mata used some Muai Thai knees to try and cave in Jiro’s skull. Jiro had no chance after getting his ass kicked for several minutes and he ultimately fell to Mata’s Pantera Negra (Ripcord Elbow). Winner: Vitor Mata Singles Match Allister Meowly vs. Kazu Gomi Kazu Gomi, typically a tag team wrestler was forced to go it alone against a wrestler who may or may not be a cat in a human body. Human or not, Meowly showed that they could wrestle by repeatedly goading Gomi in and attempting pins. The end came when Meowly hit Cat’s Cradle DDT (Hammerlock Cradle DDT) for the victory. Winner: Allister Meowly Singles Match Abnus Adebayo vs. Jain Kekoa Oh how the fans love “The Hawaiian High” Jain Kekoa but the smiling man from the island could not string enough offense together to take out Adebayo. A2 won after smashing the shit out of Kekoa with Excessive Force (Wrist Clutch Bicycle Knee Strike, Followed By Kamigoye). Winner: Abnus Adebayo Singles Match Artemis vs. Selene Nunez This next match should not have been on the kickoff show. These two went full speed right from the get go with each trying to out-trick the other. Nunez tried to wrestle a technical style while Artemis kept trying to wear Nunez down with strikes. Nunez was able to get ahold of Artemis’ leg and break her down but after spilling to the outside in a heap, neither competitor was able to get back into the ring before the twenty count. Winner: No Contest (Double Count Out)

The OATH signature plays and the opening video package for Conviction rolls. Following that achievement in video production we get our first glimpse of the raucous crowd in Mexico City. Like every OATH crowd, they are electric and laying it on thick with the cheers. We here at OATH appreciate that. The pyro and ballyhoo continued for some time. Following that expensive display we went to ringside with the voices of the action, professional prick Ben Petrie and meticulous mouthpiece (what?) Matt Mears.
MEARS: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Mexico City and episode fifteen of OATH Pro Wrestling’s Conviction. Tonight we have seven incredible contests to present to you. Benjamin, tell us about tonight’s main event.
PETRIE: Tonight we’re going to see OATH World Champion Declan Black team with his bodyguards, Derrick Warburton and Jack O’Brien as Clan Black against the team of Erik Holland, Samantha Hamilton, and Nina Stokes in six person tag team action. I can’t wait to watch the champ go to work, it’s been a while! MEARS: That is true. The World Champion has not been in action here in OATH in some time and it makes me wonder if ring rust may be a factor.
PETRIE: Hardly. The main factor is going to be that Badd Breed can’t trust their partner Nina Stokes. Stokes has proven time and again that she is only out for herself here in OATH. She is going to be the downfall of their team.
MEARS: We will see. But elsewhere tonight we have two big championship matches. First, Tabula Rasa Champion Aura Everton will go into her first title defense against “The Fire Fist Ace” Alex Pierce in a Sole Survivor Match. PETRIE: The last time that these two faced off, Everton nearly crushed Pierce’s skull. With the winner being decided by who can keep their opponent down for a count of ten, I feel like Pierce is going die here in Mexico City.
MEARS: It will be a brutal affair to be sure. After that match we will see The Cross Roads Demon Locke Helms defend the Intrepid Championship against one half of the Tag Team Champions, SILK. Who do you see taking that one Benjamin? PETRIE: Helms is going to be fired up after losing to Nina Stokes last week. He doesn’t strike me as someone who loses twice in a row so I think we’re going to see that sleaze bag SILK humbled tonight. MEARS: A fair analysis. The time for conjecture is over as we are ready to start the action! Now to the ring for our first contest.

Singles Match Brie Marie vs. Zac Geary
Dashiemania was running wild in this match as Dashie entered the contest with insanely high energy. Geary on the other hand took a methodical approach. Dashie kept trying to rush Geary but he kept picking her legs, putting her on the mat with basic takedowns. MEARS: Two of OATH’s most promising young talents get to mix it up here tonight. PETRIE: Promise doesn’t equate to success. “Dashie” needs more focus and Geary needs to be more intense. Sure the little fuck is talented but he’s missing something. An exploding gutbuster from Geary to Dashie seemed to wake the latter up because Dashie slowed her pace, using her wrestling acumen to evade some technical holds from Geary. Capitalizing on a missed strike from Geary, Dashie blasted him with Yahtzee (Superkick Outta Nowhere) for a near fall. The near fall gave Geary a better sense of just exactly who he was dealing with and when Dashie tried to push the pace again Geary reversed and Irish whip and sent her face first into the mat with a high impact running leg sweep to front of opponent’s knees. PETRIE: I need this kid to be more vicious. He has the moveset but he doesn’t fight dirty enough. If he did…he’d be unstoppable. MEARS: Perhaps he doesn’t feel that he needs to. PETRIE: And that’s why he’ll languish in the undercard. “Ursa Major” tried to apply a heel hook on Dashie but Dashie was aware of his technical prowess and quickly made it to the ropes. Geary broke his grip but then rushed at her, allowing Dashie the opportunity to send him face first into the middle turnbuckle with a drop toe hold. MEARS: An intelligent move from Brie Marie. If she can follow up then she could get a big victory here in Mexico City. Geary pulled himself up in the corner and Dashie stomped around the ring, Dashiemania was running red hot. Dashie charged toward the corner and went for the Special Delivery (Big Boot, to a cornered opponent) but Geary moved at the last possible second and Dashie collided with the corner. The man from the mountains saw his opportunity and he seized it—by seizing Dashie’s arm’s from behind and he slammed her into the mat with Exact Revenge (Straight Jacket German Suplex). Dashiemania was quelled when Geary covered and got the three count. Winner: Zac Geary

In the parking lot of the arena the Clan Black recreational vehicle has pulled into position. The brand new luxury vehicle’s engine cut and the side door opened. The slender legs of Madeline Warren, Declan Black’s manager appeared walking down the steps. WARREN: When Mr. Black is good and ready, he will make a formal statement about this evening’s main event and the next challenger for his World Championship. Ready yourselves to receive him. Warren then slammed the door shut, leaving us all to speculate about just what Black would say. Probably gonna give Jain Kekoa a title shot, is my guess.

Near the gorilla position, Zac Geary was shown passing through following his victory in the opening contest. The camera followed Geary down the hall and when he reached the locker room, the door flew open. Geary found himself face to face with “The Stone Gargoyle” Reo Ojima. There was a moment of tension before Geary passed by Ojima and entered the locker room. Ojima scoffed and then noticed the camera. His mouthguard half hung out of his mouth as a white towel was draped over his shoulder. Pulling the mouthguard out, Ojima addressed the camera in his Native Japanese. Luckily for you, there’s English subtitles for the English speaking audience.
OJIMA: You don’t put Ojima in opening match again, huh? Too bad. Was nice to leave arena early after I beat up young wrestlers. But now you give me first real opponent with Keegan Ryan.
Ojima walked towards the arena entrance as he continued to speak. OJIMA: Ryan talks big. Did some big things in Portland Pro. Ok little wrestling promotion, but tiny promotion compared to OATH. So let’s see if Keegan Ryan is big fish in small pond or most dangerous fish in big ocean. Either way, I eat fish tonight. Ojima placed the mouthguard in his mouth and placed the towel over his head as moved forward and continues his path to the ring.

Singles Match Keegan Ryan vs. Reo Ojima
This was a fucking fight. I don’t use that term lightly. Reo Ojima was clearly underestimating Keegan Ryan and Ryan knew it. So to educate the veteran, Ryan greeted Ojima with a suicide dive before the latter could even get in the ring.
The bell didn’t sound and Ryan whipped Ojima hard into the guard rail. Ojima slammed against the guard rail and then smiled. This motherfucker enjoyed it. Ryan looked to wipe that smile off Ojima’s face so he rushed him and went for a running dropkick but Ojima sidestepped it and Ojima nearly took out some fans in the front row.
Clearly not one to shy away from some “crowd work”, Ojima hopped the barricade and found Ryan laying in a pile of busted chairs. Ojima tried to mount Ryan and he got a few quick punches in before Ryan fought him off.
The two brawled through the crowd and Mexico City was absolutely about it. They brawled up into the 100s and then brawled back down toward the barricade. A palm strike from Ryan sent Ojima staggering backward and he caught himself on the barricade. Ryan measured Ojima and called out to the crowd.
PETRIE: He’s gonna fucking try it again.
Ryan charged and hit a running shotgun dropkick and this time it connected. Both Ojima and Ryan spilled back over the barricade and once again found themselves at ringside. Ryan quickly got up and slid his opponent into the ring.
MEARS: Okay I believe we are officially starting the match now.
PETRIE: Hooray!
The “New Mexico Madman” took hold of Ojima but Ojima wasn’t having that shit. Ojima hit Ryan with a headbutt to the face. Ryan took it and then gestured for Ojima to do it again. Ojima obliged. Ryan staggered back a bit further this time but then asked for another. Ojima momentarily looked impressed.
MEARS: I think that both of these men are enjoying this.
Ojima then feigned that he was going for a third headbutt but instead he clobbered Ryan with a big time lariat. Ojima applied a lackadaisical cover and only got a two count. Ojima didn’t seem phased at all.
“The Stone Gargoyle” got Ryan up but was caught off guard when Ryan hit him with a series of lightning fast chops. Ojima tried to retaliate with another lariat but Ryan ducked under it and dropped Ojima with an atomic drop. Ryan then hit a lariat of his own that dropped Ojima on his ass.
Ryan cupped his hand to his ear and the audience got louder, cheering from him. Ryan then measured Ojima again and blasted him with a mule kick to the face. Not wasting any time, Ryan set Ojima up for the Deadman’s Hand (Curbstomp) but Ojima crawled backward and locked in Chinese Water Torture (Dragon Sleeper). Ojima had it locked in for some time but Ryan refused to submit. The end was inevitable, even though Ryan did not submit, he passed out.
Winner: Reo Ojima

Listen, I’m gonna be real with you on this one. Trying to transcribe the following promo was tough because it was so good, so fresh, and interesting that I was lost in it. The gist of it is that the OATH Tag Team Champions, Thot Chocolate were backstage. SILK popped off about his OATH Intrepid Championship later on against Locke Helms and proclaimed that he would leave Mexico City with two championships. Cartier on the other hand had some nasty words for her opponent on this night, “The Outlaw” Josie Wales. Cartier said that she would put Wales away, just like SILK had a few months ago. Cartier said that the last time OATH fans saw her, she wasn’t exactly on her game but said that tonight she was going to eat the competition. Of course, they said all of that in their own unique way. It was great.

Singles Match James Edwards vs. Jake Archer
Jake Archer got a big reaction, having not been seen in OATH in some time. Edwards got a decent reaction too but the audience was about Archer. Edwards seemed a little taken aback but as soon as the bell rang, he was ready to go.
Archer walked right up to Edwards and looked to start talking some shit but Edwards blasted him with a forearm that sent Archer crumbling through the ropes to the outside. Mexico City booed this. Edwards didn’t pursue Archer, he let the referee start a twenty count. PETRIE: By rights, Jake Archer should be dead. Holland almost killed him. Stokes almost killed him. Maybe Edwards knocks his head clean off tonight.
“The Man in High Demand” got to his feet on the outside and decided to take a leisurely stroll around ringside. The referee commanded Archer to get in the ring and Archer did so, at his own pace.
Once back in the ring Edwards charged at Archer but Archer took a step to the side and sent Edwards into a corner. Archer followed that up with a running step up knee strike and chained together with a running bulldog. MEARS: Jake Archer with the excellent combination. The Man In High Demand is feeling it tonight. PETRIE: I’m feeling fucking sick seeing him do well. MEARS: Perhaps you should dial back the pre-show cocktails. PETRIE: What about the during-the-show cocktails? MEARS: Good lord.
Edwards was somewhat rocked at that point and when he got to his feet Archer caught him off guard with Just Do It! (Handspring Enzuigiri). Archer covered but Edwards was able to kick out. Mexico City was fully behind Archer.
As Mexico City roared for Archer, he taunted Edwards. Edwards scrambled to his feet and Archer lunged forward, looking for a superkick but Edwards evaded it and then caught Archer with Half Cut (Half-Nelson Suplex). Edwards himself covered but Archer kicked out at two. PETRIE: Archer landed right on his neck. That must have fucked his day up. MEARS: His eyes are telling the story. He’s hurt. Edwards was back up but Archer was rocked and could only get up to a knee. Edwards saw the opportunity to shoot his shot and he did. Edwards blasted Archer with the Violent Gospel (Running PK kick to the head). Before Edwards could even attempt a pin, the referee called for the bell. Archer was out cold. Winner: James Edwards

As Edwards had his hand raised in the ring, all eyes turned to the top of the stage where OATH Intrepid Champion Locke Helms stood, slowly clapping. Helms produced a microphone and the audience in Mexico City quieted
HELMS: Congratulations James. You knocked another human being unconscious. It seems that your goal for this evening has been met. However, your ultimate goal stands before you now.
Edwards just stared at Helms from the ring.
HELMS: I know that you want to try and knock me out James. You have made that abundantly clear. You have positioned yourself to sneak attack me at every turn and yet to have never made good on your promise.
Helms scoffed. HELMS: That is not within you. But it is within me. I have beaten you twice now. I have damaged your arm to a point where you could not continue. I know that you want revenge for that but it just is not in the stars. You will never defeat me and you will never hold this Intrepid Championship. Watch what I do to SILK later tonight and should you desire yet another opportunity to sneak attack me, then try. Just know that it will not work and it will cost you your career. Helms dropped the microphone and adjusted the Intrepid Championship on his shoulder. Edwards just continued staring at Helms as we faded out to a commercial break.

Singles Match Cartier vs. Josie Wales
Right from the get go Cartier couldn’t believe that she was in the ring with someone like Wales. Cartier mocked the whole cowgirl schtick and this fired Wales up. The two locked up and that quickly devolved into a brawl. Wales got the upper hand with a hard elbow strike that sent Cartier into the corner. Wales tried to follow up in the corner with a running splash but Cartier moved and Wales’ face crashed into the top turnbuckle. Cartier hit a backstabber and then rolled through. With Wales face down on the mat, Cartier jumped and dropped two knees onto Wales’ spine. MEARS: A brutal strike from Cartier. She is clearly out to prove her worth tonight after a disappointing performance the last time we saw her. PETRIE: She won. She’s still a champion. Who cares? MEARS: It seems that she does. She wants to prove herself. Looking to target Wales’ back, Cartier got her up and after a hard slap, Cartier lifted Wales up and looked for the Staten Island Slam (Alabama Slam) but Wales rolled through into a sunset flip for a two count. The two scrambled to take hold of the momentum and it was Wales that got it, dropping Cartier with a bicycle kick. Wales then applied a laying front face lock and she toured Cartier around the ring with a gator roll. PETRIE: Hahaha. I love this move. It makes people look so stupid. After significantly disorienting Cartier, Wales got Cartier up and slammed her into the mat with a hammerlock suplex. Wales then set Cartier up for the Rio Lobo Driver (Quackendriver 3) but Cartier slipped out of it.
Cartier had fire in her eyes as she forcefully grabbed Wales and whipped her into the ropes. On Wales’ return, Cartier blasted her with Eat This Ass (Rear View) and Wales went down. Cartier covered and got a two count. MEARS: The Tag Team Champion is ready to end this contest. PETRIE: She’s gonna try to end this match.
“The Brooklyn Baller” seemed poised to pick up a big singles victory as she measured Wales. Wales got up on one knee and Cartier ran in looking for the Empire State of Mine (Kinshasha) but Wales dropped her head at the last second, then reached up and rolled Cartier up for a quick three count!
Winner: Josie Wales Cartier was stunned. Wales slithered out of the ring and had raised her arms in victory as one half of the Tag Team Champions sat on the mat in complete shock.

In a lovely little scene we saw “Darling” Brie Marie backstage, sitting on an anvil case while her pal Alex Pierce finished the preparations for his upcoming Tabula Rasa Championship match. MARIE: Tonight is your night pal! It might not have been mine but that’s okay! I’m still here to support you. You’re walking out with gold tonight, I can feel it! PIERCE: I appreciate the support. MARIE: No problem! You know I really– Dashie was cut off as a figure entered the frame. Wendy Wynne appeared on the scene and was spinning her the chain that Skeleton Key was attached to around her index finger.
WYNNE: Nooooooooo—one cares. You couldn’t beat some half-pint rookie earlier tonight Dash-hole so maybe you shouldn’t be talking. You’re gonna jinx your pal here.
PIERCE: What do you want Wynne?
WYNNE: Oh nothing. I’m not booked tonight so I’m just walking around, seeing where I can insert myself to get some precious t.v. time.
Wynne smirked, still twirling the key which had drawn Pierce’s attention. Wynne saw him staring at it.
WYNNE: You worried about this, buddy? You probably should be. Me and that monster Aura Everton have some unfinished business, I may just use this bad boy to take that title from both of you. No that would be good t.v.
Marie hopped off the anvil case at this point and got in Wynne’s face.
MARIE: I won’t let you!
Wynne scoffed.
WYNNE: The hell are you going to do about it? You can’t even win on the kickoff show.
PIERCE: You need to watch your mouth.
Both Marie and Pierce were in Wynne’s face now. It was tense for only a moment until a fourth voice was heard. Josie Wales walked into frame.
WALES: Pierce you should focus on your title match and leave this one alone.
Wales gestured to Wynne.
WALES: Your win over me last month was a fluke but if you manage to stagger your way into another dubya tonight, best believe I’ll be coming for that gold.
WYNNE: Yeah. Cool. Anyway, Dashie, I’d be happy to give you a chance to prove something to me next week. Whadda ya say we go one on one?
MARIE: I’d love that.
WYNNE: Oh you really won’t, but let’s do it anyway.
Wynne turned to Pierce.
WYNNE: Good luck tonight Fire Fister. Try not to die!
Wynne cackled and then walked out of frame and Wales did the same.

OATH Tabula Rasa Championship Sole Survivor Match Alex Pierce vs. Aura Everton ©
This next one had some history. As noted earlier in the show, Everton nearly ended Pierce’s career with a top rope Last Call stomp back at Violent Ends in November. Pierce had wanted a rematch since then and after defeating Josie Wales at the last Conviction, he earned his rematch and this time it would have Everton’s Tabula Rasa Championship on the line. There was respect here but both competitors were hungry and weren’t going to be sharing a six pack after this was all said and done. They both got good reactions but the crowd calmed when the bell rang, they knew that extreme violence was coming down the pipe. MEARS: I have a feeling that this is going to be something special. Trying to prove a point from the get go, Pierce caught Everton with a discus forearm smash and then tossed her over the top rope to the outside. Pierce ran and hit a diving swanton bomb over the top rope to the outside and that got the fans in Mexico City on their feet. They love that flippy shit. The two fought their way up the ramp but Everton turned the tide with a perfect uppercut which staggered Pierce like a teenager fresh off a keg stand. Everton then treated “The Fire Fist Ace” to a toe kick to his midsection and then attempted a piledriver on the stage. PETRIE: Hahaha Pierce is going to set a time record for quickest OATH championship match loss. MEARS: Why do you hate him so much? PETRIE: He knows why. Knowing that he couldn’t take any early damage to his noodle, Pierce kicked with all his might, reversed the momentum and took Everton over with a back body drop that saw Everton spine bounce off the steel of the entrance ramp. Everton bounced right up to her feet, favouring her back, trying to walk off the pain. Pierce gave chase, grabbed Everton by the waist band with one hand and the back of the head with the other. Pierce took two steps and sent Everton sailing off of the ramp! Everton did a front flip and landed with a thud on the concrete, her back taking the brunt of the impact again. MEARS: I could hear that from here at ringside! PETRIE: You are wearing a headset. The referee stood by and started a count but Everton was up by five and she staggered back toward the ring. Pierce was on her, not wanting to give her any breathing room. Smart. Pierce charged Everton but she turned just in time to introduce his face to the steel steps via a drop toe hold. Pierce tried to recover but Everton charged at him and hit a shotgun dropkick that sent Pierce hard into the steel steps, dislodging them. Clearly favouring her back, Everton made haste and stood on the steel steps. She grabbed Pierce and pulled him up there with her. PETRIE: Kill ‘im. Make ‘im die! MEARS: You really are something. PETRIE: And someone. “New World Aura” took less time on this set up and successful dropped Pierce on the top of his head, onto the steel steps with a vile piledriver. A viledriver. Pierce was looking up at the lights but it is unlikely that he was actually seeing them. The referee started the count. Pierce came to around a count of six and was on his feet by eight. Pierce was indeed up by eight but Everton dropped him with a straight right hand. Pierce dropped to all fours and Everton saw her opportunity. The Tabula Rasa Champion climbed up onto the apron and measured Pierce. MEARS: Aura Everton is going to do it again! PETRIE: This time it will kill him. Everton took a moment to consider if she wanted to go this far again and that slight hesitation afforded Pierce the opportunity to get up and pull Everton’s legs out from under her. Everton fell back and smacked her head on the apron. “The Fire Fist Ace” was clearly in a daze but his fighting spirit powered him. Pierce got up onto the apron and took hold of the champion. As quickly as his body would allow, Pierce positioned Everton and brought her off the apron to the floor with his Stormbreaker (Last Ride Style Tiger Driver). PETRIE: Everton is dead! That had to kill her! MEARS: Good LORD!
PETRIE: Alex Pierce — that was some of the nastiest shit I’ve ever seen. The referee started the count and Mexico City was silent. Everton landed in such a grotesque fashion that no one in the arena expected her to beat the count…and yet at a count of nine she was up.
But not for long.
Pierce grabbed Everton and threw her over his shoulder. Pierce then charged and tossed Everton into the closest barricade with a lawn dart that separated that particular section from the rest of the guard rails. Everton was out, in the first row. PETRIE: That’s it. She has to be done. Not satisfied, Pierce grabbed the barricade section that Everton’s body took out and he lifted it up. Pierce angled it up against a different section and then took hold of the champion. Everton was out on her feet as Pierce looked to end the match. Pierce set Everton up and went to deliver his Chaosbringer (Shouten) onto the angled guard rail but the champion came back to life at the last second and hit Pierce with a ddt onto the floor. The referee started his count. MEARS: I don’t know if that will keep Pierce down but it is giving Everton the opportunity to recover. In a clever move, Everton climbed back into the ring to put some distance between her and Pierce. At a count of five Pierce was up and he got into the ring. Everton, still seeing stars, tried to rush Pierce but he caught her with a knee to the chin that dropped her like a sack of spuds. Looking for the end, Pierce went to rush Everton, who was pulling herself up using the ropes. Pierce was just about to connect with another knee but Everton dropped her head and back body dropped Pierce over the top rope to the outside! Pierce did a front flip and came crashing down onto the angled guard rail back first and it bent right in half. Everton held herself up by the top rope as the referee counted and ultimately got to ten. Winner: Still OATH Tabula Rasa Champion, Aura Everton
Right at the count of ten Everton collapsed and the referee called for EMTs. However, they did not come. At the top of the ramp a stretcher wheeled out from behind the curtain but no one was with it.
MEARS: What the hell?
PETRIE: It’s clearly a ghost stretcher.
It wasn’t. A figure stepped through the curtain, wearing a smile. The fans started heavily booing when they saw that it was “The Stone Gargoyle” Reo Ojima. Ojima slowly wheeled the stretcher down to ringside.
MEARS: Reo Ojima is here and he has a stretcher.
PETRIE: I feel like he may not be trained as a healer.
MEARS: No he is quite the opposite.
Ojima looked set to enter the ring but Everton was back up…barely. The referee handed her the Tabula Rasa Championship, however, Everton’s gaze was fixated on Ojima. Ojima just stared right back at her, smiling as we cut to commercial.

In the parking lot yet again and we saw the Clan Black RV. Madeline Warren was standing outside with Derrick Warburton and Jack O’Brien. Once the heavies surveyed the scene, O’Brien knocked on the door to signify that the coast was clear. The door to the RV opened and there stood OATH World Champion, “The Pride of Nova Scotia”, Declan Black. The champion slowly disembarked his luxury vessel and sighed. The camera closed in as Black began to speak. BLACK: Tonight I am, yet again, forced to step into the ring with three people that have no business even speaking my name. When I accepted this match for Clan Black, I didn’t expect that Badd Breed would be able to find a partner. A beat. BLACK: And yet…here we are. Nina Stokes has decided to get into bed with Team Hot Garbage because she thinks that she can go toe to toe with me. News flash Neeners…you can’t. When you chose to partner up with the idiots, you were setting yourself up for disaster. However, circumstances have…changed. Black looked disgusted, as if he didn’t want to continue. So he didn’t. Black handed the microphone to his lovely manager Warren and she did her duty in speaking on his behalf. WARREN: My client was informed earlier today that he is contractually obligated to defend his OATH World Championship next week. Seeing as how no number one contender has been determined, the OATH management decided to add a stipulation to this evening’s main event.
Black stood in the background, polishing his championship with the sleeve of Warburton’s shirt.
WARREN: When Clan Black wins this six person tag team match, Mr. Black will be allowed to name his challenger for next week in Tijuana. But…if by some act of God the other team is able to win…whomever secures the pinfall will challenge for the World Title next week.
Black took the microphone back and looked in camera lens.
BLACK: You three mongoloids may think that this is a good thing but only one of you will get a title shot should a miracle occur and you beat us. You have no hope of winning this match because your individual greed won’t let you work as a team. At first I was upset that this stipulation was added but it actually works in our benefit. You three are going to eat each other alive and I get a front row seat to the feast.
Black gestured off camera and the quartet all walk out of frame, the main event having taken an interesting turn.

OATH Intrepid Championship Singles Match SILK vs. Locke Helms ©
SILK came out to a massive pop and he seemed to really enjoy it. The Tag Team Champion, stood in the ring and bathed in the adulation of the fans. The mood completely changed when OATH Intrepid Champion, “The Crossroads Demon” Locke Helms came to the ring. MEARS: Locke Helms may be one of the most disliked competitors in OATH. PETRIE: I don’t know why. He has an incredible record and has been a stellar Intrepid Champion. MEARS: I think it has to do with his attitude. PETRIE: That’s a dumb reason to not like someone. He taps motherfuckers out left and right. That’s his job. The match began and SILK rushed Helms. SILK did a front roll and slid behind Helms, staring up at Helms from his belly on the mat. Helms didn’t seem at all perturbed, he just stared through SILK. PETRIE: Then you have this idiot! The two finally locked up and Helms jerked SILK down into a headlock and then punched him in the face a half dozen times. SILK pushed Helms off into the ropes but the champion stopped his momentum by grabbing the top rope. SILK rushed Helms and Helms looked to low bridge the top rope but SILK stopped short. Helms stood back up and SILK slapped the shit out of him. SILK then positioned himself for the Bareback (Olympic Slam) but Helms slipped over the top rope onto the apron. MEARS: Excellent evasion from the champion. Helms nailed SILK with a forearm shiver and then hit a slingshot spear on “The Black Anaconda”. Helms covered but only got a two count. Helms then mounted SILK and started a serious ground and pound. PETRIE: Call it ref! SILK can’t defend himself. MEARS: I do not think we are at that point yet.
SILK ate a few shots before he bucked Helms off, turned him over and climbed into a mount of his own. SILK gyrated for a second but this moment of showmanship allowed Helms to escape. Helms rushed SILK but SILK popped up and nailed Helms with the Bareback (Olympic Slam). SILK covered.

..! Helms kicked out just before the three and the audience in Mexico City let out a collective groan. SILK looked very pleased with himself as he got Helms up and shot him into a corner. SILK followed that up with a running stinger splash and then he dropped Helms with an x-plex. MEARS: The Black Anaconda is in complete control here. Did the loss to Nina Stokes last week cause the mystique of Helms to dissipate? PETRIE: Hardly! He’s Intrepid Champion. MEARS: Perhaps not for long. SILK taunted Helms and once the champion was up, SILK kicked him in the mid-section but Helms caught his foot and spun him around. Helms looked to set up for his dreaded submission The Witching Hour but SILK slipped out, spun Helms around and dropped him with B.J. [Break Jaws] (Stunner). SILK covered again.

2.. ..!
Helms barely kicked out and Mexico City could not believe it. SILK himself looked a little mystified but he only felt that for a moment, he quickly popped his hips, stood up and locked in the Trick Turner (Sharpshooter). MEARS: Trick Turner! What a coup it would be if SILK could tap out the submission specialist. PETRIE: Not gonna happen! It can’t!
The Crossroads Demon was in the middle of the ring as SILK wrenched back. Helms looked as if he was close to submitting when he used his last few ounces of strength to grasp the bottom rope. SILK kept the hold locked in to a count of four before breaking the hold.
SILK released the hold but he pulled Helms up and set him up for the Silky Smooth DDT (Destino). As SILK popped up onto Helms’ shoulder Helms held him there and then tossed SILK face first into the middle turnbuckle. MEARS: What a reversal from the champion! You have to believe that if SILK hit that Silky Smooth DDT, we’d have a new champion!
Helms waited as SILK held his face and stumbled backward right into Witching Hour (Locke hits Full nelson legsweep facebuster but he keeps the full nelson locked in as he flips himself over his opponent’s body and transitions the move into a bridging arm triangle choke). SILK had nowhere to go and like many before him, SILK had to submit.
Winner: Still OATH Intrepid Champion, Locke Helms
The Crossroads Demon was handed the championship but his attention was immediately drawn to the crowd and up on a balcony in the 100s section stood “The Burning Heart” James Edwards. Helms laid down his championship and welcomed Edwards to join him but Edwards seemed content where he was.

Would you look at that? The scene opened to show fan favourite OATH interviewer May O’Neil and there she stood with former OATH Tag Team Champions, The Inevitable, Stephanie Matsuda and Leah. O’NEIL: I am here with The Inevitable who are both entering 2020 coming off individual singles victories. You two have been here in OATH since the beginning. You were the first Tag Team Champions. What are your plans for 2020? Matsuda took the microphone from O’Neil.
MATSUDA: No disrespect May but we’ll take it from here. Our plans for 2020 are clear — we want our Tag Team Titles back. We beat three other teams, including Thot Chocolate, to win those straps back in September.
Leah took the microphone.
LEAH: Sure they beat us at Violent Ends but that puts us at 1-1 overall. So Thot Chocolate, after you’re done licking your wounds from tonight, answer the challenge that we are laying down right now. The War Queens want their rematch. Don’t be scared, just say yes–
With that two new bodies walked into frame, OATH’s resident sibling tag team, David and Patrick Slayton – The Dynasty.
DAVID: Sorry ladies but we couldn’t help but overhear your challenge. We respect that y’all were the first Tag Team Champions but at the last Conviction we took Thot Chocolate to the limit.
PATRICK: We deserve another shot at those titles and we won’t stand by as you just waltz into a rematch.
Leah and Matsuda don’t back down.
MATSUDA: Yeah that makes sense, we wouldn’t let another team do that either. You two want a shot and so do we.
LEAH: Seems like the answer is obvious. The Inevitable against The Dynasty next week. Winners become Number One Contenders.
Patrick glanced over at David.
PATRICK: That suits us just fine.
The scene then cut as the two teams stared each other down.

From an undisclosed location the scene showed that of Ben Macbeth standing with Midnight Special, Josh Cherry and Harvey Carbine at his side. The members of EMBLEM did not look happy, the mood was solemn.
MACBETH: Hello OATH Pro Wrestling. We… we are EMBLEM and we are here before you to address what happened on the last episode of Conviction. More than that, we are here to address this entire saga that we have been involved in. For months now, my compatriots Harvey Carbine and Josh Cherry have been the target of the nefarious group known as Enigma Protocol.
MACBETH: Some weeks ago Enigma Protocol abducted Combo XL. Combo is a friend of all of ours, we all mean a great deal to one another. We are family. That is why I came to OATH. My brothers needed help. They needed help to save one of our own.
CARBINE: Enigma Protocol — you’ve crossed a line. Attacking us, fine. That’s part of the game. Abducting Combo? Alright he’s a big boy, he can take it. But turning him on us…fucking…brainwashing him? That is too far.
CHERRY: I can’t even believe this is a thing. This is a sport. Sure it gets insane from time to time but what you’ve done…this goes far beyond the ring. It’s too much. You people are too much.
CARBINE: It needs to be made right. And we will make it right.
MACBETH: TERROR, Miguel, Adrestia — name your terms. Tell us what you want. We are weary, we are tired — but we are far from finished. The time for games is over. If this is about a fight…then let us fight.
CHERRY: You made our friend turn on us. You made our brother attack us. That will not stand. Let’s end this. Meet us in the ring next week and name your terms. It needs to end.
MACBETH: It will end. Next week. Tijuana. Come talk to us and let us determine how to proceed. Because if we do not figure out an endgame…this whole company will continue to suffer.
The feed then abruptly cut.

The terms of this match were changed earlier in the evening. If Clan Black wins, then Declan Black would get to name his World Title opponent for next week. Should Badd Breed and Nina Stokes win, whomever got the pin would earn said title match. High stakes indeed. MEARS: It is time for our first main event of 2020! PETRIE: It’s only fitting that it features our World Champion! The greatest OATH wrestler…ever! Clan Black was out first, making their entrance through the crowd. Madeline Warren led the group, with Jack O’Brien behind her, Derrick Warburton bringing up the rear, and the OATH World Champion Declan Black in the middle. Once in the ring, Warren stood at ringside as the heavies stood behind the champion. Mexico City showered the group with boos but the champion simply raised his championship high in the air. MEARS: Like it or not that is our World Champion. I shudder to think at who he will choose as his opponent for next week should Clan Black win tonight. PETRIE: He will pick a worthy competitor for he is a valiant champion! MEARS: I doubt that. He’s only defending the title next week because he has to. Badd Breed was out next, Erik Holland and Samantha Hamilton marching to the ring side by side. They entered the ring and immediately O’Brien and Warburton stood in between them and the champion. Nina Stokes was out next to a big pop. She began by slowly walking to the ring but then decided that her patience had run out. Stokes ran to the ring and entered. Stokes slipped between O’Brien and Warburton, spearing Black out of his boots! PETRIE: RUDE! The bell rang and Stokes was all over black, pummeling him. O’Brien and Warburton pulled her off but Holland and Hamilton entered the fray. Hamilton pulled O’Brien off of Stokes but O’Brien launched Hamilton into a corner. O’Brien charged and hit her with a body avalanche that crumbled “The Titaness”. Holland and Warburton started brawling. Warburton blocked a lariat attempt from Holland and planted him with a big spinebuster. Holland rolled out of the ring and Warburton gave chase. PETRIE: O’Brien and Warburton are no joke. That’s why they are the champ’s bodyguards. They are goliaths! O’Brien sold meth! MEARS: What a great accolade… Stokes went to attack O’Brien but Black came out of nowhere hit Stokes with a forearm smash to the back of the head. Black then sent Stokes into a corner and followed that up with a running forearm smash. That forearm seemed to only serve to wake Stokes up. As Black taunted the audience, Stokes ran out of the corner and hit him with a kitchen sink knee to the mid-section that sent Black ass over tea kettle. Stokes mounted the champion yet again but before she could lay any shots in, Black’s manager Warren pulled him out of the ring. This being Lucha Rules, O’Brien was able to enter the ring legally and he blasted Stokes with a lariat. PETRIE: Oh yeah. Lucha Rules baby. O’Brien tagged in his partner Warburton and then took hold of Stokes. In an amazing display, we saw a pop up by O’Brien into a Samoan Drop by Warburton. Stokes was driven hard into the mat and Warburton made a cover.

..! Stokes kicked out and Mexico City popped big for that. Warburton got stokes up and tried to drag her over to the Clan Black corner. Warburton was nearly there when Stokes broke his grip with a kick. Stokes then looked toward her corner where both Hamilton and Holland were ready for a tag. Stokes showed trepidation. MEARS: Make the tag Nina! You have to! PETRIE: She won’t! She’s too proud! Petrie was wrong. Stokes dove and tagged in Hamilton. Hamilton entered the ring and Warburton rushed her, only for Hamilton to take him down with Defying The Gods (Frankensteiner). Warburton rolled to the outside and O’Brien entered the ring. O’Brien rushed Hamilton but she kicked him in the mid-section and dropped him with Wrath Of The Titans (Pedigree). Hamilton covered. MEARS: Hamilton is gonna earn a title shot!

..! The pinfall was broken up…by Stokes! PETRIE: Haha yes! They are falling apart already! O’Brien exited the ring to recover. Hamilton couldn’t believe it but it was obvious that Stokes wanted the title shot for herself. Black entered the ring at this point and blasted Hamilton with Call of the Coal (Claymore Kick). Holland went to enter the ring but he was pulled off the apron but Warburton. Holland and Warburton started brawling on the outside. Holland went to whip Warburton into the guardrail but Warburton reversed it. Holland hit the guard rail and before he knew what was going on, Warburton and O’Brien charged and hit him with a double spear through the guard rail! MEARS: Good lord! PETRIE: I told you! The Heavies are no joke. MEARS: I believe it now. In the ring, Black got Hamilton up and looked like he was going to go for the Blackout (Rainmaker) on Hamilton but Stokes came out of nowhere with a flying Amidst the Shadow of Sorrows III (Boma Ye Knee Strike) to the back of his head. Hamilton was knocked out of the ring and Stokes covered Black.

2.. ..3! PETRIE: Nooooooo!
Mexico City erupted. Nina Stokes had pinned the OATH World Champion.
Winners: Badd Breed & Nina Stokes
There was chaos everywhere as Stokes was the only person left standing. Warren was losing her mind at ringside. O’Brien, Warburton, and Holland were laying in a heap in the front row. Hamilton was down ringside and Black had been knocked silly.
MEARS: Nina Stokes has earned an OATH World Title match next week!
Stokes showed no emotion, she just glanced down at that champion and then presented the slightest smirk as Conviction went off the air.
