OATH Pro Wrestling Presents Event Horizon: Night Six Tijuana, Mexico July 23rd 2019

— Without Corruption

The OATH signature played and following that we saw OATH Interviewer Sonny Callighan standing against a black backdrop. Callighan announced that he had a message from OATH management and that message was that for the remainder of the Event Horizon Series, both Elijah Dynamite and Steven Maximum were barred from attending. Callighan said that management wanted the rest of the series to play out without corruption. This got a cheer from the audience in Tijuana but Agustin Gates was likely freaking out elsewhere in the arena.

— Agustin Gates (4-1-0) vs. Declan Black (2-2-1)

“The Majestic One” came to the ring on his own and for the first time in this series he did not have a grand entrance. To be truthful, he looked downright upset. Declan Black on the other hand looked pleased as punch as he made his way to the ring.

The match began with some jaw jacking between the two, their words couldn’t really be heard but they were obviously not nice. Gates tried to poke Black in the eyes early on but Black reversed and tried to force Gates down into the Painkiller 2.0 (Inside Arm Bar). Gates slipped out before Black could take a firm grasp and powdered to the outside.

Black refused to chase, he pointed at his head as if to say “I know that trick”. Gates stomped around ringside like a scalded toddler while Black positioned himself on a turnbuckle, lounging, and counting along with the referee. Once the referee hit a count of eighteen, Gates got up on the apron and entered the ring.

From this point forward Gates tried for every dirty trick that he could think of but Black would not be suckered. Black finally decided to strike and attempt the In The Black (Regal Cutter) but Gates reversed it into the Adieu (Uranage). Gates covered with his feet on the ropes but the referee saw it and stopped the count.

Gates lost it. Gates started screaming at the referee, trying to intimidate him. Black took this opportunity to grab Gates from behind and nail him with the Blackout (Rainmaker Lariat). Black covered and got the three count.

Winner: Declan Black (3-2-1)

With his hand raised, Black indicated with his index finger and thumb that Gates was “this close”. Gates was beside himself and stomped up the ramp, audibly repeating “This is bullshit!” over and over.

— TERROR

A pretape of Ryan Gates was shown. The new OATH signee was sitting in mostly darkness save for a lone spotlight on him. He sat on a steel chair and gazed into a mirror. The lightbulb flickered off and on, his reflection came and went. A single phrase, spoken by a young boy played over the scene. That haunting phrase was repeated again and again. Each time the child’s voice became more and more distorted. Gates looked down into his open hands.

“An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” “An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” “An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” “An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” “An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” “An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.” After a half dozen repetitions, Gates looked up from his open hands and stared into the mirror. The light remained on.

“I will become TERROR without end.”

— Erik Holland (2-3-0) vs. Miguel Villalobos (2-3-0)

Alright, so this next one had some history behind it. Holland and Villalobos had done this dance a few times before, somewhere else. But this isn’t somewhere else, this is OATH. So although both Matt Mears and Ben Petrie hinted at the history between these two, it doesn’t really fucking matter in OATH.

That being said, the match started with these two just beating the absolute piss out of each other. Neither man really got the upperhand, they just brawled all over the ring and when that wasn’t enough, they spilled to the outside. The referee started a twenty count but decided that it didn’t matter so he just let them fight.

Holland hit Villalobos with a powerbomb on the outside and nearly took control but Villalobos fought back and hit a running kick that sandwiched Holland’s head between Villalobos’ boot and the steel steps. The two eventually made their way back into the ring and when Villalobos went for La Mordida Del Lobo (One-handed Electric Chair Driver) but Holland fought out of it and was about to hit The Toxic Avenger (Death Valley Driver) when the lights when out.

The lights flickered on and off for a few moments. We saw glimpses of a fourth person entering the ring. Then the lights went out for a solid ten seconds. When they came back on both Villalobos and Holland were laid out in the ring. The only people standing were the referee and Ryan Gates.

Gates was sporting short hair and a black t-shirt that simply read “TERROR”. The referee called for the bell and ruled the match a no contest.

Winner: No Contest

Upon closer inspection, Gates’ fist was wrapped in barbed wire. Both Villalobos and Holland were bleeding profusely from the head. We’re talking real wounds her, they both had been cut deep. Gates stood tall and pointed at the word on his chest. Terror.

— THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST

The scene was a press conference…but it did not look very professional. Not at all in fact. The scene was a plastic patio table with a microphone sitting on a stand. The microphone itself had no cable attached. It wasn’t wireless, it just wasn’t plugged in.

After a few moments of anticipation, a man walked in and sat down. For those in the know, they recognized this man as Jake Archer, one of the newest OATH signings. Archer was wearing sunglasses and he was holding his cellphone, staring at it. He held up one finger, letting us know that he’d be with us in a minute.

This lasted about thirty seconds before Archer sat down at the busted ass patio table. He took off his sunglasses and leaned forward to speak into the useless microphone.

“No further questions.”

Archer stood back up, put his sunglasses on and walked out of frame.

— Finn Whelan (3-2-0) vs. Rob Sharpe (1-4-0)

The next contest saw “The Seattle Saint” take on OATH’s old warhorse. Whelan’s hand was taped up following the attack from Night Five but Whelan was ready to go. Sharpe mocked Whelan and indicated that he’d be going after Whelan’s hand.

“Who the hell cleared Whelan? He should be medically excused from the rest of this series.” Petrie said.

“I firmly doubt that he’d let that happen.” Mears said.

Sharpe rushed Whelan but Whelan sidestepped him and hit him with a chop block. Whelan then quickly nailed a magistral cradle and pinned Sharpe for a quick three count. The fastest victory in OATH yet.

Winner: Finn Whelan (4-2-0)

Whelan quickly fled the ring after the bell. No one would ever accuse him of being a coward but a loss like that would likely lead Sharpe to try and get a measure of revenge, Whelan wasn’t about to let that happen.

— Accidente

Backstage Sonny Callighan caught up with Salvador Blanco ahead of the latter’s main event match against Devin Brando. Callighan said that Brando had promised to inversirate Blanco following what Blanco did on Night Five.

Blanco said (in Spanish, we have subtitles) that it was not his intention to hit Brando with a chair. He said that he wanted to stop the injustice that was being perpetrated by Gates and his brothers. Blanco went on to say that he made a mistake and hit Brando. Blanco went on to say that although that was an accident, Brando said some vile things about Blanco and that Blanco would not take that lightly.

Blanco said that above all he is a competitor and that tonight he would defeat Brando, and physically address Brando’s threats. Blanco then walked in the direction of the curtain.

— Devin Brando (3-1-1) vs. Salvador Blanco (2-3-0)

Usually a Salvador Blanco match would start with a handshake. A few matches in this series have not. He has offered, but they haven’t been accepted. This match didn’t even see Blanco attempt it. The bell rang and was followed by Brando and Blanco immediately coming to blows.

Blanco got the upperhand early with some quick arm drags and a massive dropkick that sent Brando to the outside. Blanco went for a suicide dive to the outside but Brando sidestepped it and sent Blanco head first into the guard rail.

Subduing his more violent tendencies, Brando bounced Blanco’s head off a half dozen objects around ringside before putting the luchador back in the ring. Brando sent Blanco into the corner and tried to follow it up with a running forearm but Blanco caught him with a monkey flip into the corner. Brando landed on his head, Blanco pulled him out and covered for two.

Blanco climbed to the top rope and went for Muerte Voladora Blanca (Shooting Star Press) but Brando rolled out of the way. Blanco landed on his feet and then ran right into the Midnight Murder Scene (End of Days) from Brando. Brando covered and got the three count.

Winner: Devin Brando

After the bell Brando stood over Blanco and seemed as if he was contemplating further violence. Brando did not act right away and in that time, Finn Whelan ran to the ring. Considering that Blanco did Whelan a solid in taking out Agustin Gates’ posse, perhaps Whelan came to ensure that Blanco did not suffer further.

Whelan entered the ring and entered a staredown with Brando. Agustin Gates then walked out onto the stage and looked very pleased with himself. The three men all exchanged glances, none daring to engage physically. Declan Black then appeared on the stage beside Gates. The show went off the air with individual shots off all four competitors. The end of the series was close.
