Hello hello, it is Minoru Tanahashi coming to you once again in text form, and I know what you’re thinking, we already read and loved Minoru’s Match Musings for this week, what else could you possibly have for us? Well, I am such a wonderful giving man, that I am doing a little something special for all of you. With Oath Rapture just a few days away, I am her with predictions for the iPPV. These are all of course my opinions and do not necessarily reflect the opinion or values of OATH management, staff or broadcasting partners. Now without out of the way, let’s get to some fun.

PRE SHOW PREDICTIONS

Okay, so for most matches I will be giving a reason for picking who I pick, but on the pre show it will just be the basic prediction because well it’s the pre show and I don’t feel like doing a bunch of extra work, so here we go.

SINGLES MATCH

Astaroth vs. Jenna Sharpe

SINGLES MATCH

Silvio Aprile vs. Mary Mallon

SINGLES MATCH

Tony Satriale vs. Tyler War

SINGLES MATCH

El Diablo Blanco vs. Annie Lapalm

MAIN CARD PREDICTIONS

SINGLES MATCH

Baz Jacobi Vs. Ben Macbeth

I think Jacobi manages to take this one, and I expect his manager to be involved in some way or another. Macbeth is a tough bastard, but I think the hobo and his little buddy find a way to win.

OATH TABULA RASA CHAMPIONSHIP

2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH

Josie Wales Vs. F.M. Young ©

The Champion retains once more, in 3 falls and a very close match. It’s hard to go against momentum and while Josie is riding a 3 match win streak, the Tiger has won like 6 in a row and 4 of those were title matches. I can’t bet against her.

SINGLES MATCH

Zeke Davis vs. Qiyanna Marshal

Fuck Zeke Davis. I don’t need more reason to pick Qiyanna in this match, but I’ll give it. I think she is the superior wrestler and Davis is probably under orders to take it easy so he will still be able to help Ojima in the main event since he’s nothing more than his little bitch,

OATH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

TAG TEAM MATCH

Caleb Abendroth & Terra Mason vs. The Hell Realm ©

Not going against the champs on this one, especially after what happened at Conviction 23. I don’t know how much experience Terra and Abendroth even have as a team, and there is no way Terra will be 100% going in to the match.

SINGLES MATCH

Leah Aguero vs. Stephanie Matsuda

I think Aguero is the slightly better one on the team and she proves it at Rapture. The kicker will be if Matsuda is willing to do whatever it takes, friendship be damned. If she goes in there with that mindset, she can take it, if not, Leah will prove that she’s the #1 on that team.

OATH INTREPID CHAMPIONSHIP

SINGLES MATCH

Finn Whelan vs. James Edwards ©

Edwards is a tough guy and he showed that resilience as well as top notch striking and suplexes at Conviction 23. He also took a bit of a beating while Whelan stayed outside and is coming in pretty much unscathed. I think he’ll have a plan to neutralize the strikes, the suplexes, and the champion.

CHAIN MATCH

Declan Black vs. Locke Helms

This is the kind of match that favors a crazy asshole like Locke Helms. I think he is going to be more willing to get brutal and violent and sadistic. I expect a bloody war, and I don’t know if Declan Black is prepared to go as far as Helms.

OATH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

SINGLES MATCH

Reo Ojima vs. Erik Holland ©

This is part prediction, part hope. I don’t really like Erik Holland, but I loathe Reo Ojima and really want to see him get his ass kicked. I think this will be a hard hitting violent contest and if it is kept one on one, Holland retains the belt. If other people get involved, that will give Ojima the advantage and possibly the title.

Expected MOTN: Whelan/James

Match I am most looking forward to: Chain Match

Sleeper Pick: Jacobi Vs. Macbeth (both men need wins and opening up the main card, they could look to have a match that the rest of the crew can’t follow)

Title changes: 1 (I’m expecting that 3 of the 4 champions retain their titles, with only Edwards dropping the Intrepid title.)

There you have it folks, my OATH Rapture iPPV match predictions. Make sure you tune in live on iPPV this Sunday night, and then watch Conviction XXIV the next week, where your mother's favorite wrestler will make his return.
